I wish it was grime, at least that's fun, urgent and uptempo. People like Not3s don't sound like grime to me, their music is slow and as dull as dishwater - you don't get Stormzy or Skepta droning on like that!

I think the huge amount of new acts though is a result of how huge crime has been over the past few years!

I knew exactly what Ay Caramba would sound like before I played it, I don't have high hopes for Nassty or Advice either!

I don't know whether that's a typo or not, but you're definitely right about crime being big recently. But yeah, bring back the fire and aggression to hip-hop hits. This is why I enjoyed the Eminem album so much!

Just came here to add that Muse's new songs are absolutely dreadful, huge drop in quality, so no wonder R1 is ignoring them.

 

Wonder if they'll support Foo Fighters until forever though.

Totally agree with Muse. The only song I’ve liked from them this era is ‘The Dark Side’. Shame really, but they’ve been declining in quality for a while now.

Yep, and “Something Human” was comically bad.

Hard to place the Foo Fighters on radio 2 with the metal style rock they play and they look at them as a classic band so see them as still relevant to their audience.

 

Albeit artist like Liam Gallagher still get Hottest Record status but no daytime playlisting!

 

So that means R1 listeners have to suffer? :P
