Fan wars are a historic itunes thread INSTITUTION on Buzzjack though

So this is the most classic thread in a while tbh!

582 & 697. Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas Is You

647. Shakin' Stevens - Merry Christmas Everyone

809. Wham! - Last Christmas (Single Version)

1248. Roy Wood & Wizzard - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday

No Slade or The Pogues atm!

Didn't Wham! do the best last year?

They did but I expect Mariah will do better this year, Wham! did better because George Michael had died the previous year and there was a subsequent campaign to get the song to #1.

18. Olly Murs - Moves (feat. Snoop Dogg)

23. MK, Jonas Blue & Becky Hill - Back and Forth

32. Shawn Mendes & Zedd - Lost in Japan (Remix)

44. Ellie Goulding, Diplo & Swae Lee - Close to Me

80. George Ezra - Hold My Girl

81. Charli XCX & Troye Sivan - 1999

87. Take That - Out of Our Heads

88. George Ezra - Hold My Girl

How is this going up already? Didn't think it was getting any airplay or promo just yet

My favourite Christmas song is Elton John's Step Into Christmas, which is so underrated! :P

Date entered Artist Title Peak Chart run

20/01/1973 Elton John Daniel 4 38-10-6-5-{4}-7-11-30-41-39->10

07/07/1973 Elton John Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting 7 36-9-{7}-7-14-20-30-37-46->9

29/09/1973 Elton John Goodbye Yellow Brick Road 6 43-16-12-10-{6}-6-10-19-24-29-43-42-42-42-44-36->16

08/12/1973 Elton John Step Into Christmas 24 42-25-26-26-{24}-26-44->

After a really good year in 1973 for some reason Step into Christmas only peaked at 24 that Christmas but as we know has turned into a seasonal classic through annual airplay and use in ads over the years. I blame the focus in 73 of being up against the huge Wizzard and Slade!

it did chart in the top 20 finally last year for some reason.. I think it had a special promotion on the Christmas playlists or something and ended up hitting a new peak at #17 (and even repeaked again at 11 the week after Christmas )

I think I will listen to his Xmas song first this year! Didn't hear it last. Is it the song Train sang?
