November 26, 20186 yr Miley has confirmed that this is coming on THURSDAY: https://www.instagram.com/p/BqpeRHRhK3_/
November 26, 20186 yr I agree, I doubt Joe Public would be able to name a single Demi song whereas with Miley, Wrecking Ball at the very least was undeniably gigantic in its impact. Solo was a #1 yes but I expect most known it as a Clean Bandit song with a random female vocalist... Having said all that, I don't know why all of a sudden a Mark Ronson x Miley track is a guaranteed smash - they're both incredibly inconsistent both in terms of quality & commercial success. I'm not sure that's a totally fair assessment of Solo - I'd say it's caught the eye of more people than it usually would have because of Demi and her fanbase, especially on an international scale. Songs like Skyscraper, Heart Attack, Cool for the Summer and Sorry Not Sorry were all big hits for Demi too! Of course, not as big as Wrecking Ball in terms of cultural impact, but let's not ignore her own success. As of right now, I would say both Demi and Selena are bigger than Miley, but obviously her last era wasn't quite as commercial. She's still in a position where she could claim it back I think but this + her next lead could be make or break!
November 26, 20186 yr Sadly, the most pooular thing Demi is known for is her recent personal struggles whereas Miley has Wrecking Ball, Party in the USA (its on EVERY office spotify playlist), her tongue controversy & Hannah Montana to the GP.
November 26, 20186 yr They're also performing this together on Saturday Night Live on 15th December so they may have a second collaboration to perform as guests usually do two songs.
November 27, 20186 yr Sadly, the most pooular thing Demi is known for is her recent personal struggles whereas Miley has Wrecking Ball, Party in the USA (its on EVERY office spotify playlist), her tongue controversy & Hannah Montana to the GP. I think Miley will always be the biggest ex-Disney Star of that generation. Hannah Montana alone is enough of a reason whereas neither Demi or Selena’s shows had anywhere near as much cultural impact. Miley’s family connections, her early starting career, her numerous controversies, her comeback from those controversies, even relationship wise I think her & Liam were more notable in the public eye than Selena & Justin were (at least back when S&J started dating, if they were dating now then it’d be a whole other story since both have had huge successes since then) with Hemsworth being a household name right now also. Miley is the epitome of a child star who had a lot of trouble growing up, but she’s evolved as a person and come out on top. Selena thankfully never had a “wtf is she doing” moment and is gradually increasing her star power naturally, but Demi went through the “wtf” phase and unfortunately ended up back there which obviously resulted in her OD :( The sad thing is she isn’t the only example of a Disney child actor who’s had a rough time after Disney’s done with them
November 27, 20186 yr I agree. Miley is far bigger than Demi. Whoever said otherwise literally has no idea what their on about.

I think she was really at the point where she was properly starting to make a name for herself before the overdose happened (albeit in part due to featuring on lots of things).
November 27, 20186 yr I agree. Miley is far bigger than Demi. Whoever said otherwise literally has no idea what their on about. It depends which angle you look at, though. Musically, Demi's been far bigger the past couple of years than Miley has (and so has Selena for that matter). As a name, Miley will probably always be bigger and overall she's definitely the most successful, but there's more than one way to look at it (and you should read my prior post for further justification).

Not sure if this is just me living under a rock but surely not? Selena & Justin was a huge thing. And I honestly don't think I've ever even heard the name Liam Hemsworth let alone being aware of him being in a relationship with Miley. :kink: (edit: just looked him up and I see he is Australian, maybe that explains it :magic:)
November 27, 20186 yr never heard of a Miley relationship ever, for a sec I thought it might be Liam Gallagher, couldn't think of any other Liam :D
November 28, 20186 yr Worldwide release coming at 12am GMT Thursday night/Friday morning. Video coming at the same time: A9hcJgtnm6Q
November 30, 20186 yr THIS IS SO f***ING GOOD!!! This might just be stunned at how great it is, but this could be HUGE. It feels like if Lady Gaga released a monster hit as the lead for Joanne almost but so so fresh and different too.
November 30, 20186 yr I honestly don’t know how I feel? It’s a miles ahead of anything on ‘Younger Now’ but commercially I don’t think it’s going to set the charts a light! I’m hoping it grows on me but it is very fresh and mileys voice is truly perfect for it!
November 30, 20186 yr Wow, taken aback by how good this is on first listen! :o Not sure of its hit potential but I really hope it can be, it's excellent!!
November 30, 20186 yr I liked 'Younger Now'. This however, might need to take a few listens. I'm not completely sold atm, but I feel like it could grow on me.
November 30, 20186 yr Author A few listens in and omg... I genuinely can’t believe how much I adore this? It really does scream #1 smash to me. The video is incredible too!
November 30, 20186 yr The video is by far the best thing Miley has ever done! I can see a top 20 debut for this in the UK, it already has 220,000 views on YouTube
