37 is really very low. You really need to be in the top 20/25 to have any kind of big effect from Hot Hits.

I don't monitor the thing very closely myself so maybe you're right, but there are some other records below the top 25 which are doing significantly better than Baby. Wasn't it higher than 37 in recent weeks? And like I said it's getting a heck of a lot of airplay, so you'd expect that to help too.

Yeah, a lot of the songs doing better are on Today's Top Hits too, obviously there are genuinely more popular hits too. I don't think it's destined to be a huge streaming hit, but getting it top 20 on Hot Hits would make it into a decent top 15 hit I reckon, because it'd probably climb into the top 50 on Spotify.

There is that but also, it's not on Spotify's two biggest Christmas playlists (Christmas Is Coming, Christmas Hits), though it is song #1 on one of their other playlists (Christmas Crackers).

 

(well actually their biggest playlist (by number of followers) is 'Christmas Classics' but I think that one's more US-targeted as it has all the really old songs, Wizzard's not on that playlist either - and there's also one called Christmas Pop which is just modern songs)

It was supposed to be released last Friday but it got indefinitely delayed due to his legal troubles, and now it's been rush released cos it got leaked.

 

This may be the last album he releases for a long while because it's looking very likely he'll see a lengthy prison sentence (unless the label have enough material to magic up another album while he's in prison).
