Came to my attention that it's been a year since Dannii released 'Galaxy'. Penned by Sia, it remains the last song we've heard from Dannii. What are your thoughts on the song one year on?

I remember not thinking much to the song initially, but there was something that drew me back to it and I found it to be a bit of an earworm after several listens. It's still basic but I can enjoy it for what it is. The video looks so cheap although they did try to do something with the colour palette at least.

Slight shame we've not received anything since - I think the buzz on pop forums during the 15th anniversary for Neon Nights and its re-issue suggests that there's some interest in new Dannii music if she got the right song.

Good song but was on my radar for about 3 weeks tbh. Love that we got new music from Dannii though

If I remember correctly didn’t this surprise everyone and go Top 50 briefly on iTunes?

Yes it did and i found more surprising it was in the Irish iTunes top 90 which golden and a lifetime to repair didn't manage for kylie.

It did indeed! Didn't hang about but I remember being surprised it made that far up, even with sales being as low as they are.

It was on my rotation for months, I really enjoyed it! I'm still sad that it flopped, so Danniii turned away from music again.
This just didn’t cut it !

I never particularity found this very good.

Songs like Galaxy remind me why alot of Dannii's music passed me by going back through the years.

I liked the song and hope now that Dannii is going to be a judge on the Australian Masked Singer she will use this publicity stint to release new music.
I'd love dannii to give music one final good attempt as if she worked with the right label and did promo an album could do something, she needs a label like bmg who understand their artists and what their fans want.

Dannii would struggle to get a deal with a label such as BMG but i see your point.

It would be nice if Dannii could get a good deal and have some backing behind an album if she proceeded with one.

For now, Dannii needs to get herself a good feature on a single to get her name out there again.

It's hard to work out what it is that Dannii's wanting when it comes to her music career. She says that music is her world and she loves performing but you don't hear anything about her working on new music or anything. Like, what was the idea behind 'Galaxy' and 'Holding On'? Were they testing the waters for an album? Were they just meant to be stand-alone releases? Were we meant to get anything more?

I suspected the relative buzz around the Neon Nights re-release may have given Dannii the bug for making more music, but it seems not. I also thought it was strange we got no new music during her time on X Factor, with the exception of 'Touch Me Like That', which I'm not even sure was mentioned on the show.

Dannii’s biggest music market has always been the UK with hardly any success in Australia so always a major missed opportunity not to have released during her XF stint.

I think we’ll get something from her again but she knows she would need to invest time in the UK and she seems content concentrating on being a Mum and TV personality in Australia to want to do that - who’s her market now? I think there will always be a level of interest in her but she’s never had a massive selling album so she is probably realistic in what any sort of comeback could produce.

Music wise she doesnt seem to know where she is with it,but the UK is her biggest market and where she would gave to concentrate on.

To be fair, she did in 2007 and it bombed. It was such a shame Radio 1 made a thing about premiering the single but didn't playlist it, and then she didn't perform it on XF so the whole thing slipped by pretty much unnoticed. :(

I don't realistically see how she could chart in any capacity again, to be honest.
