Not Chris Moyles still having this kind of impact *_ nearly outselling P!nk by double as well
All this proves is the itunes chart is officially dead and barely worth looking at these days as sales are so low it has no influence on anything.

It's increasingly heading that way clearly but it's not *completely* dead yet - 'Shallow' would never have hit #1 without its strong download sales for example.

People still listen to Chris Moyles :???:

Yes he hosts the breakfast show on Radio X which is one of the biggest 'indie' music stations.

Of course 1 or 2 artists with fan bases that buy anything and everything will still shift a few thousand but Lady Gaga could probably have put Shallow out on CD single and got those sales too.

I just think GTA: San Andreas when I see Radio X! Interesting...

I've read Nick Knowles is 56-year-old. I wonder if he is the oldest male act to get number 1 on UK iTunes?

It’s still more interesting than the actual chart half the time!

Nick Knowles #1 really   Thank god for streaming sales.
iTunes chart still highlights what's popular or will be popular just Spotify is slower!

Are you saying Nick will be number 1 on Spotify next week then :o

It's the exact opposite isn't it, it's getting more and more those who have a rabid fan base and doesn't reflect what the general public is listening too. Hence Nick Knowles and Cheryl recent number ones.

I feel like if a song hangs around for some time high up on iTunes, it's still a sign that it's reaching out to people and must be widely known/acknowledged at least.
