It's the exact opposite isn't it, it's getting more and more those who have a rabid fan base and doesn't reflect what the general public is listening too. Hence Nick Knowles and Cheryl recent number ones.

Hasn't this always been the case? We've always had fanbase acts soaring to #1 and dropping like a stone. It doesn't reflect what the general public is listening to, but that's why streaming is a different way of measuring music to downloading.

I'm not sure that happened when downloads were at there height. It is like anything the bigger the sample size the more reflective of the masses it will be. The smaller the sample the easier it is to skew especially when certain artists have very loyal fans.

I feel like if a song hangs around for some time high up on iTunes, it's still a sign that it's reaching out to people and must be widely known/acknowledged at least.

THIS

That's what my point was meant to mean, obviously fan base artists will jumps to no1 for a day or so but the more sustained hits they generally do well on streaming and therefore in the chart overall.

Itunes and Spotify have different demographics

A song high on itunes for a while means its popular among the itunes demographic

Same with spotify

Doesnt mean the whole nation loves the song

07. Ava Grace - Sweet but Psycho

13. George Ezra - Hold My Girl

19. Ellie Goulding, Diplo & Swae Lee - Close to Me

26. Mumford & Sons - Guiding Light

29. James Hype - No Drama (feat. Craig David)

35. Kylie Minogue & Jack Savoretti - Music's Too Sad Without You

why this is suddenly in?

was done a couple months ago wasn't it?

not complaining, it's pretty good

Cheryl has released a clean version of Love Made Me Do It and its currently at #66, wonder how high it can go.

So its just the backing track <_<

 6. Ava Max - Sweet But Psycho

Would be #4 without the Nick and Tom tracks ugh

And without the other tracks would be number 1

It’s amazimg how sudden Ava has taken off after a few months of fairly small/moderate success

So pleased for her

Sweet But Psycho is proving we need UPLIFTING POP.

Going to do a 'Lush Life' tbh.

Why you put Tom odell in the same bag as this Nick? Is it also

a campaign?

I kinda liked Psycho the first few times i heard it

But find it annoying now

Shes not Lady Gaga

More cos it shot out of nowhere and will probably plummet down like Nick is on kworb/will down the charts once it's off #1
