Interesting how in 2013 Miley had 2 #1 singles and a #1 album in the UK. Flash Forward to 2017 Malibu peaked at #11 and the album scraped the top 10.

Malibu was still a decent sized hit and did hang around for a good while. The problem was there was nothing commercial enough for the UK on the rest of the album, which was all country music. Solid collection for that genre but it wasn’t pop, which is what Miley was known for with every prior album era.

 

If Taylor Swift came back with a pure country album like her first one, I could see her having a similar era to Miley’s last.
