If ladbaby is no 1 it'll be writer bernie taupins 1st no 1 since Blue in 2002.

Ooh interesting, had no idea he'd written hits for people not named Elton John. If "Sacrifice" had gotten to the top a little sooner (and assuming "We Built This City" is #1 tonight) he'd have a songwriting credit on a #1 hit in 5 consecutive decades!*

*Although I suppose semantics in mind, the decade technically runs 1981-1990 ~

I still can't quite believe that Denise Van Outen and Johnny Vaughan did the Kylie and Jason parody. I know it was for Children In Need but it was totally bizarre.

Their cover version spent 3 weeks at # 1 in my chart.

I haven't done retro faves in ages, amazing to see how close the races were in 2003 and 1998!

Def here for the Christmas chart, best chart of the year and possibly one of the closest in History too with the mids!!

Some great retros there 2013 and 2003 were class with Lily and Leona showing there's Xmas song life in the 21st century and 15 years since I spat out my Sunday lunch listening as the Darkness missed out on the crown. 2003 Xmas was perhaps the last big physical Xmas sales year even tho we had band Aid the following year cd sales had fallen quite a bit by then

Got bored of Let You Love Me quickly, it's decent but doesn't match Anywhere for me.

Biography

California singer and dancer Billie Eilish debuted her ethereal indie electro-pop sound when she was barely a teenager. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Eilish grew up in a household of actors and musicians, and was homeschooled along with her brother Finneas O'Connell (the Slightlys). At the age of eight, she joined the Los Angeles Children's Choir, developing the soulful vocals that would later appear on her early singles. After the release of "Six Feet Under" and "Fingers Crossed," Eilish made her breakthrough with "Ocean Eyes," produced and co-written with her brother Finneas and released by Interscope. It surpassed 14 million online streams and spawned a number of remixes with Astronomyy, Blackbear, and Goldhouse. Eilish followed up in February 2017 with "Bellyache," then landed another track, "Bored," on the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. An EP, dont smile at me, featuring the singles "COPYCAT" and "watch," followed later that summer. - iTunes

Biography

Cadet

South London grime artist Cadet (aka Blaine Johnson) grew up alongside fellow MCs Konan, Krept, and Redz as part of the notorious Gipset gang. The teenage crew gained a considerable following across social media toward the end of the noughties with their videos of freestyles about gang life and London living. Using music as their escape, the members all focused on their careers, with Krept and Konan eventually signed to a major in 2013. Cadet continued to plow his own path, and in 2015 delivered freestyles for underground London-based music channel OSM Vision, and suddenly saw his profile skyrocket. Switching his tone from gang-related tales to emotional lyrics about life and its tribulations, Cadet found a new audience for his raps. In 2016 Cadet dropped his first mixtape, The Commitment. The self-released album saw him teaming up with the likes of Donae'o and Tis Rome. Continuing to deliver freestyles for various online music channels including SBTV, the rapper built up a respectable following. Cadet released a follow-up album, The Commitment 2, the following year. Featuring a number of singles -- including "Instagram Girls" and "No More Letters" -- the album cemented Cadet's rise from teenage tearabout to full-fledged grime star. - Spotify

Deno Driz

Social media sensation who rose to fame via his schoolyard singing on Instagram. He rose to stardom when his impromptu cover of Geko's song "Over and Under" went viral on Instagram in March 2016. He is a member of the music duo AJ x Deno. They released the song "Ride or Die" in 2017. - FamousBirthdays

So glad this is back in the top 40. Hope it re-peaks once the Christmas staleness clears out
Glad Rita got another week in the top 40, could rise next week too!
Jesus NOooooooooooooooooo! Advice is back. :(
Def here for the Christmas chart, best chart of the year and possibly one of the closest in History too with the mids!!

The Darkness missing out is one of the charts biggest travesties! One more sleep not getting to #1 is another. Mariah Carey's AIWFC deserves that top spot too it's an enduring classic!

Well if this can re-enter the chart in Christmas week then it could really blow up in the new year. I do quite like this, but... I was expecting to hear some Christmas songs

(also the edit seems a lot more clunky than usual?)
