February 2, 20196 yr Ooh what a marvellous 1-2 punch that is *.* Post Malone rarely, if ever (I still haven't brought myself to listen to the country stuff okay) puts a foot wrong for me so 'Better Now' was yet another great release from him, I wasn't surprised in the slightest to see it catching on so much as it's a very accessible earworm! Then 'Freefalling' was the perfect debut for Arcodesia, it's the kind of dance that's exactly up my street, ever so dreamy <3 Other favourites so far: 'Praise The Lord (Da Shine)', 'The Deep & The Dark', 'Jumpsuit', 'Long Way Down', 'Sweet But Psycho', 'Lost In My Mind' + 'no tears left to cry'
February 5, 20196 yr Yeah I remember when Hangman came out that it wasn't your usual UK-rap lyrics! I think the whole 'Hangman' pun is quite inspired.

February 15, 20196 yr Author 22. Au/Ra & CamelPhat - Panic Room pYwXhXuA3Hc The superb production from CamelPhat combined with the haunting vocals of Au/Ra, a 16-year-old singer-songwriter(!), made this a really great track! I never thought this would become such a hit but it did, staying in the UK top 40 for 11 weeks!
February 15, 20196 yr 'Panic Room' was my most played song of 2018 and the longest runner in my top 40 so I wholeheartedly approve of its inclusion here  I agree that the production is superb, it really elevates the original, as much as I like Au/Ra's contribution too. One of the best dance acts around right now!
February 15, 20196 yr Author 21. Muse - The Dark Side e0UWT0dFSQE Here we have the one and only appearance that Muse have this year. If my EOY records went back that far, Muse would have featured in my EOY top 40 in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2015 and 2016 as well, so it's rather clear that they are one of my favourite bands of all time. With another new album out this year, Simulation Theory, more tracks joined my weekly chart, although I must admit I think this album is nowhere near as good as most of their previous albums were. The album track Propaganda is pretty good, Something Human was good too, but the only one that makes it into my top 40 of the year is The Dark Side, the fourth single from the album.
February 16, 20196 yr Panic Room  One of my top faves of the year. Not so fussed on Muse these days, they're well past their peak for me.
February 17, 20196 yr Author Panic Room  One of my top faves of the year. Not so fussed on Muse these days, they're well past their peak for me. Agreed! And you mean you were fussed on Muse once? That's already a surprise to me if so! But yes, I can certainly agree that this is one of the band's weaker albums.
February 19, 20196 yr Author 20. Portugal. The Man - Feel It Still pBkHHoOIIn8 One of the more unlikely UK chart smashes of 2018, Portugal. The Man take a place in my top twenty of the year. This would be a lot higher too if it wasn't such a slow burner that I was already starting to get bored of it by the time it became massive here. Having first heard the track in March 2017 after being a fan of 'Smile' from their previous album Evil Friends in 2013, I supported 'Feel It Still' heavily since it entered the UK top 100 in August - although it took until February for it to reach the top ten! This was already enough to see it make my top 50 of 2017, but it goes even higher this year. I feel this is destined to become a one hit wonder for them though.
February 19, 20196 yr I thought I was ahead of the game when I discovered this in the December before it blew up over here  Fantastic track! I do prefer Live In the Moment, but this is still one of their best.
February 19, 20196 yr Agreed! And you mean you were fussed on Muse once? That's already a surprise to me if so! But yes, I can certainly agree that this is one of the band's weaker albums.Poor wording on my part. Was never a proper fan (haven't listened to the albums) but they had quite a few good singles back in the day, their singles are weaker now for me.
March 10, 20196 yr Author I thought I was ahead of the game when I discovered this in the December before it blew up over here  Fantastic track! I do prefer Live In the Moment, but this is still one of their best. Yup, it was a very very slow rise to success but it got there in the end! Poor wording on my part. Was never a proper fan (haven't listened to the albums) but they had quite a few good singles back in the day, their singles are weaker now for me. Thought so! And yes, I agree their singles are no longer as good as they were even from the last album Drones, but they're still pretty good!
March 10, 20196 yr Author 19. Monoral - Kiri hlgc3_4WL0M Here we have Japanese band Monoral, with a song that I discovered in late 2016/early 2017 that I was obsessed with for a few months - and even put in my BJSC potentials list - which ended up being entered into the contest anyway thanks to Jupiterdonia! Fortunately the track qualified for the final, and went on to finish 24th in BJSC 109 - one place above my own debut entry by Claudia Cazacu!
March 10, 20196 yr Author 18. Dave feat. Fredo - Funky Friday Pxns_n9q0f4 After being disappointed by this on first listen, Funky Friday turned out to be a massive grower for me as well as becoming a much deserved UK number one for Dave! This is his second and final appearance in my EOY top 40 after Hangman was at #25.
March 10, 20196 yr Author 17. Super8 & Tab feat. Hero Baldwin - Burn -lHpCFvaGDM We have another BJSC entry here, this time from South Danaelanda (as it was known at the time), who finished 21st with this in BJSC 109! The Finnish trance duo's tune entered my personal chart before even being announced as an entry after I discovered it through Thermo's Hot Hits, and even went on to finish higher in my EOY chart than his!

If anything, 'Burn' may even finish higher in my 2019 EOY, as it's still in my weekly top 10 and my YTD #3. Great to see it so high for you though! :cheer:

Fantastic entry! Enjoyed 'Burn' from South Danaelanda when this was entered. Glad you liked it too! Edited April 3, 20196 yr by coi
April 3, 20196 yr Author 16. pg.lost - Terrain 8VpRIfktCeE And here's the highest of the BJSC entries in my EOY chart. This wonderful piece of Swedish post-rock that I already played loads in 2016 enjoyed a 're-release' in my personal chart as it became Arcodesia's highest placed entry to date when it finished 11th in BJSC 110.
May 5, 20196 yr Author 15. Freya Ridings - Lost Without You tDPpex1wvOc Actually come to think of it, this was entered into BJSC, although it was a live version and I hadn't joined BJSC at that time so wasn't really aware. I came to discover this beautiful track simply from its continued presence in the UK top 100 before it eventually made the top 40 and then the top ten. Nothing less than what this emotional track deserves.
