Why has Emma released midweek, i never understand the rationale behind these decisions.

Artists like Emma, need all their sales/streams counted in the one week to be in with any chance of making the Top 100.

There is no chance that Emma is going to make the top 100 any week based on fan purchases/streams. The only way that this could potentially go top 100 is if she gets Radio 2 support and has some sort of TV promo (Graham Norton etc) at the right time. Streaming is going to be non existent.

She wouldn't go top 100 regardless. For smaller artists, it's better to release midweek because there's less competition which may result in better sales.

He's heard/realised that he could potentially get a #1 this Friday, so encouraging fans to download/stream on Twitter. I'm routing for Calvin Harris and Rag'n'Bone Man this week though, so streaming that to try and counter balance, ha. Lewis Capaldi should be able to get at least a week in next week though surely?
