Posted March 15, 20196 yr If I am paying £10 I want a CD jewel cases. THey're on the way out, most artists aren't doing them now. Dido's CD would have looked fab in it. Emma Bunton is doing the same. They get easily damaged and they don't seem as good quality.... Anyone else? :w00t:
March 15, 20196 yr I’m seeing a lot more albums in HMV using cardboard sleeves. It’s better for the environment and I imagine it’s cheaper to produce too.
March 15, 20196 yr Yes I agree. We should get a jewel case. The flimsy cardboard sleeves just aren't strong enough and the disc gets scratched with repeated removal.
March 16, 20196 yr Jewel cases are made out of plastic which are really bad for the environment so, as much as I prefer the look of the jewel case, I support the cardboard ones.
March 16, 20196 yr Really surprised anyone prefers jewel cases to digipaks 👀 I haven’t bought a CD for years, but always used to hate it when only a jewel case was available. It’s like when you find out an album you really like doesn’t have a gatefold vinyl 💔
March 16, 20196 yr I've always hated the card board sleeves as they are very hard to keep in top condition
March 17, 20196 yr Yeah, CDs in jewel cases will always be better than any other format for me. If it's an environmental issue, I'll gladly cut back on other things to keep my jewel cases.
March 17, 20196 yr cardboard all the way, think of the environment much prefer vinyl 7" singles to CD singles though
March 21, 20196 yr Are most new releases going to be issued this way? I just ordered a Bananarama re-issue released this year, and it just came in a paper case. Kind of disappointing. Edited March 21, 20196 yr by bluesunstorm
