I'll be shocked if Celine manages to outsell Westlife. As Pippa said, Westlife already have a huge lead, they're likely to have more UK based promo over the coming month and both albums are likely to drop hard after Christmas. Don't know about Westlife but Celine hasn't exactly had glowing reviews for this album either.

I cant see celine selling anything more than 100k, that's good for celine. Westlife will prob sell close to 200k unless sales completely plummet for them.
Haven't got around to hearing the album yet, but I'm pleased to see her at midweek #2! If it stays put, that'll make it her highest peaking album since A New Day Has Come from 2002, which reached #1.
Will give this a listen at some point? Any pop in it or is it mostly ballads? What's the best song?

A good mix, ‘Flying On My Own’ is a pop dance banger :music:

It looks as though Celine will close the week out on 21k sales.

I think this is a positive result for Celine in 2019 and also her highest charting album in 17 years.

it's a great result, wasn't expecting much more

hope she keeps the #2 and the awful Boe/Ball don't catch her

Celine has broken her 17 year drought and returned to the Top 2 in the album chart officially this week.

Happy for her to get that #2.

But sales wise I thought she’d do more. Love Me Back To Life sold way more in week one didn’t it despite peaking lower.

She actually had UK promo near release week last time though, like X Factor which saw her peak at #14 with the lead single which was really impressive considering, plus she was on Jonathan Ross. Looks like it'll be a year until she's in the UK again according to her touring schedule, fingers crossed she'll be here earlier than that.

I did think she'd do more though. Radio 2's Hyde Park was a big gig and I'm sure the album was up to pre-order at that point. Hopefully it can sell decently over Christmas and make its way past Gold at least.

I remember that X Factor slot! Round about the last year (or one of the last years) of that show where you actually got an impact from performing. I remember getting a few albums that week too. Didn’t ARTPOP block it from #1 and LM Salute album I think was released the same week too

I’m happy Celine managed a #2 debut though! I do think gold is possible as well. I’m going to give it another listen over the week as I’m at work it’ll help time pass by a bit quicker.

That is her first US Number 1 since 2002 when A New Day Has Come achieved Number 1 status.

A solid 3rd week performance for the the album with it looking to retain a Top 15 position this week.
It's fallen from #1 in the US to outside the Top 100 in its second week  The biggest fall for a #1 album in US chart history!
