This from UK rapper JAY1 which entered the UK Top40 at #19 on Friday, the latest in the random grime Top40 hits. Can't say I heard of this until last Friday just gone.

This song was a really pleasant surprise, I expected it to just be another identikit GRM Daily track but it has a very unique minimalist sound to it that's unlike pretty much any other recent UK rap hit (I guess '18HUNNA' was the closest but it's still fairly different even to that). Idk about the lyrics but I like the aesthetic. x

Think I've done a 180 on this, it's definitely improved on repeated listens. Needs to be heard on proper speakers/headphones.

It's not 'good' but it's certainly grown on me since I first heard it. Much better that some of the stuff gracing the Top 40 right now (see: Keisha & Becky)
