I can’t see this new release doing that well to be honest. Greatest hits are now largely out of fashion thanks to streaming. I know many Kylie fans tend to buy physical editions but this album doesn’t really interest me. I have everything included so it’s not a necessary purchase. I’d be more surprised if it reaches no1 with decent sales.

 

This release seems to have really divided fans and even collectors - I’ve seen just as many people saying they are not going to buy it as I have those saying they are. I guess ultimately this is one for the GP and to get a proper GH out into the market - will be really interesting to see how it performs week 1 and in the long term.

 

I think BMG have done a decent job overall though - they have given the fans various formats to collect and the GP an album they will (hopefully!) want after Glastonbury.

 

As you said GH are largely redundant now so I guess this could easily underperform?

My hope's are high for a strong first week so hopefully it doesnt underperform.Overall it would great if it could eventually go platinum but it's hard to call.

I will be extremely disappointed if the album does not sell in the quantities many of us are expecting in its debut week.

I will be disappointed if it misses the Number 1 spot and totally disappointed if it is any lower than Number 2.

It is an album that should sell long term due to the extensive track listing with so many big hits and a Glastonbury performance.

That said it may take a while to reach platinum certification.

Her last Best of release was lame but has managed to continue selling in small numbers which has helped its sales become more respectable.

 

I havnt even contemplated it not going top 2. It even with low sales should continue to sell and sell especially when she releases new material or does future tours or appearances. A trickle seller always builds up great sales eventually.

They announced it too early and I think the hype has died down quite a bit.

Plus the fact Kylie’s actively backing/promoting this - she didn’t even feature on the cover of the last GH. She also will have mass exposure from Glastonbury which is the same week the album is released plus her summer shows and the fact this is being released off the back of the successful ‘Golden’ campaign.

Exactly, in addition to Kylie supporting the release, much better track listing and huge performances at the time of release all indicates a much for successful release.

This release is on a completly different level to the last best of as i dont think anyone was happy with that release and it always came off as cheap and half hearted. Kylie herself also didnt support the release which is the opposite to this release. The multi formats will also boost this release and its backed up with huge promotional slots on release.

I am excited for this release and excited to see what the album booklet will contain.

This release feels on par to Ultimate Kylie.

 

It's a great collection of songs and I think its strong enough to attract regular casual buyers.

For many who have enjoyed Kylie down through the years could casually pick this album up.

Likely an album to sell reasonably well in supermarkets especially when the price drop kicks in.

The release in large, represents her truly wonderful career.

I hope we do get the SBIT mixes released - also odd that the DJ Fresh mix of NYC is streaming only.

Very odd when we consider it's her weakest platform.

The decision of leaving it off download is not a decision i would have expected.

Big worried this may not go to number 1.....

Love all the social media activity from Kylie’s team for this album, also Warner Music Australia are doing Twitter polls for the favourite Kylie tracks - some interesting results so far.

 

 

Short of a surprise Stormzy release, I can't see this not making #1.
