I do enjoy word is out but back then it was the wrong choice of lead single.Too much of a good thing could have worked, give me just a little more time would have worked as a lead too and either would have likely stretched her run of top 10 hits. If u were with me now followed her top 10 stretch would be longer too. Let's gets to it had such different singles, pwl I think didnt know how to handle the album and its chart position shows that.

I'm really liking 'Word is Out' after years of completely overlooking it. I think it works as lead single as it's a maturer, R&B sound but still has a nod to the catchy pop of her earlier work. 'Too Much of a Good Thing' would have been a good lead too, in terms of sound, but I'm not sure about it performing any better than 'Word is Out'. I know the Summer Breeze mix was pushed as the main version in Australia and the song managed Top 10, so maybe that could have done well in the UK too?

I'd have liked Let's Get to It to push the dance sound a bit more, with 'Closer' and 'Do You Dare?' included on the tracking list. The aforementioned Summer Breeze mix of 'Word is Out' kinda works with this sound too. Maybe the album could have worked with an R&B Side 1 and a Dance Side 2?

'Red Blooded Woman' seems to have slipped from its status as the album highlight at the time. I personally love it and it rates as my favourite single from the album.

Red Blooded Woman wasn't and still isn't a highlight for me.

Both average song and single that falls way below par in comparison to Slow and Chocolate from this era.

I'm not sure where KM94 sits on my Kylie album rank just yet but I do prefer it to Impossible Princess. It's a very atmospheric album, one that works best when you listen from start to finish. 'Confide in Me' and 'Put Yourself in My Place' are masterpieces and 'Surrender' and 'Time Will Pass You By' are personal highlights for me.
Km94 is placed right for me, there is just something about the album that I never really connected with. I dont dislike the album and I dont love it either. Love the artwork though as kylie looks great on the front cover.

KM94 opened doors for Kylie as it helped change her image in a way she wanted and was comfortable with.

Confide In Me while not a highlight Kylie single for myself, did what was was needed.

Put Yourself in My Place, (the better of the 2 songs for myself) was a great single too and then it all went wrong.

I think the album itself needed more statement songs such as Confide In Me for it to have become more successful and stand out.

It was an era that fell flat really quickly and from a sales perspective i feel it underperformed and didn't meet the expectations the label or Kylie had.

Considering how universally disliked this single choice was it has performed ok in this poll.

I like the song so am i happy to see it rate higher than some of the songs already revealed.

It is likely, the single cover, helped Better Than Today in the overall results.

Thought 'KM94' would have beaten 'LGTI' at the very least, but somehow 10th place is about right. Wow has it really been 25 years since this came out, where does the time go... While this may not stand as one of Kylie's best or strongest albums, it is however a very important one and showed that she's got a lot more to offer than the PWL sound, I think she left them at about the right time, artistically and career wise, as she really needed to explore new horizons or otherwise she would have got stuck in an almighty rut.

Not only was the S.A.W. sound totally out of fashion by this point, but they just didn't know how to progress past the old pop sound and none of the artists that were big during PWL's heyday, were around anymore (apart from Kylie of course), and if she did another album with them, then it would have been career suicide and she would have faded away completely. So this new direction was needed and it does succeed mostly...

Confide In Me
The new Kylie sound starts here with this one song and something completely different to what she's done before, this mixture of dance/indie-pop/trip-hop sounds goes against everything that Kylie's done before and while it can take some getting used to (even to some of the more hardened Kylie fans), It really draws you in with some brilliant production and some wonderful arrangement, as well as some eastern influences and twangs are intermixed with a full string orchestra and haunting vocals from Kylie herself, hitting notes and taking her voice places it had never been before. Creating something well and truly epic and of course this had to be the lead single as nothing else would have worked to this level. A truly unforgettable moment that opened a whole new chapter and a rebirth.

Surrender
This is again different with some breathy sexy vocals and some seductive lyrics and along with a nice 90's dance beat running throughout. A very decent album track and an interesting style for Kylie to take.

If I Was Your Lover
Picking up the pace with this more funky and harder edged dance sound that further showcases Kylie's new diversity, with some more breathy and saucy vocals, and there's even a slight hint of a classy R&B sound, that therefore creates one of the most interesting songs on this album as well as some great production by Jimmy Harry and perhaps could have made a great single choice, as its a definite standout moment on here.

Where Is The Feeling
The 3rd single and final single, released 8 months after the last and completely revamped from the version that sits here. Again this uses that typical 90's dance sound and a lot more pop sounding that we've heard so far. Its light and quite fun and bounces along at an okay pace, but at nearly 7 minutes long, this can be a bit of a slog to get through.

Put Yourself In My Place
Needle scratching opens up this next track, and then some electric guitars, some superb keyboards and synthesizers laden this down tempo number and build to an awesome chorus. This was the album's 2nd single and a definite spot on choice, with its very classy and stylish sound and some fantastic powerful vocals from Kylie throughout, this has to be one of the greatest songs she has ever recorded, and of course that amazing music video that again has to be one of her best. Truly outstanding song and video.

Dangerous Game
Another great track now that begins with some tender vocals and then a crescendo of intense, solid, power vocals with superb string accompaniment. With production from Brothers In Rhythm, this is yet another great example of Kylie leaving behind the past and taking herself and her voice in new and ‘dangerous’ directions.

Automatic Love
After two ballads the pace picks up with this classy little number, complete with strings and great drum beat. Yet again, Kylie’s voice is outstanding and despite some questionable lyrics that I would have to say are pretty advanced for '94 and makes for a very memorable track, this is dare I say it, yet another standout moment.

Where Has The Love Gone
A very chilled dance anthem that's nearly 8 minutes long and definitely outstays its welcome, but Kylie's vocals are soulful and commanding on this track, even if it is one of the weaker moments on here.

Falling
Again I wouldn't rank this as one of the album's stronger moments, but this does have a nice chilled dance beat and a hypnotic rhythm, and plus thanks to The Pet Shop Boys there is some great writing on here, but find the production doesn't really connect with the concept of the track, just sounding very generic, over-long and very filler-ish.

Time Will Pass You By
Closing the album on an almighty bang, after a couple of fillers we get a gorgeous uplifting dance anthem and along with Kylie's joyful vocals as she advises us to enjoy every moment of life, and she really sells it with some wonderful production by M People, as this has that definite feel of one of their songs, but Kylie does manage to put her own stamp on it and its just great. This was scheduled to be a single, but sadly never happened, as this could have definitely breathed new life into this era, and imagine a cracking music video to go along with it, then this could have easily been another firm Kylie classic.

A large percentage of the tracks would have made a stronger single selection than Where is The Feeling.

If I Was Your Lover

Automatic Love

or

Time Will Pass You By

Any of these 3 would have worked as singles and if the 3rd single performed better than Where Is The Feeling a 4th would have likely got a release which would have helped increase sales of the album.

I don't think Where Is The Feeling did anything to increase album sales.

A very good and different single from Kylie in her debut era.

My least liked from the 4 singles but that is not negative.

The 4 singles from her debut were strong, that said i would have preferred Turn It Into Love as the 4th selection ahead of Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquai.

Id be the same, I also preferred made in heaven as it is just a pure pop song.
