May 13, 20196 yr Shocking to see This is the way ahead of Disrememberance. I agree too, when disrememberance was released I didnt take much notice but I really like it now.
May 14, 20196 yr Such a bad start but I do think it got better with the later releases, I really like "This Is It", "This Is the Way" and "Get into You" and these should have been the first 3 releases. The problem is that while This is it is the better song, releasing a cover as your first track wouldn't have worked and I don't think any of the other songs would have been good first single material. 'Show You The Way To Go' was also a cover, originally sung by The Jacksons, and yeah do agree releasing a cover as the lead didn't work, hence its poor #30 chart placing. Not really a fan of Dannii's early material (bar 'This Is It' & maybe 'Jump To The Beat' for the cheesy nostalgia factor), but as for the rest either average or below, and haven't listened to her first 2 albums (only know the singles), and considering the not so impressive run of 'Get Into You' singles, I'm not really interested. So I don't know if anything else on that album would have worked better as the lead single. Considering they'd already released a cover for the first single, they'd may as well released 'TII' as the first single, considering that was the only real success from this sub-par era. 'Love's On Every Corner' was also terrible, aged horribly and should have been scrapped along with 'SYTWTG' from the album entirely. 'This Is The Way' and the title track are harmless enough, but very MEH.
May 14, 20196 yr Shame to see 'Disremembrance' so affected by the video and cover as the song itself is great. Who doesn't love strings in a dance song? Not fussed about the rest but I'd have liked to have seen 'Galaxy' a little higher. It's pretty dated and cheap but I do have a soft spot for it.

May 14, 20196 yr The 'Get Into You' video looks like a GAP commercial, huh never noticed that before. Also what was the point of actually releasing this, considering it came 8 months after the last single and the album had already bombed way before then, so I just don't get WHY?, there didn't seem to be any point, there was no-way this filler of a track was gonna turn things round and did anybody actually want this. The fact that it managed to make top 40 is something of a miracle and being a 5th single with a pretty poor track record, only 1 out of 5 became a hit. Thankfully she turned things around a few years later by heading into Dance music, which really suited her far better, as her early pop stuff was mainly bland (apart from 1 or 2 little gems). 'Disremembrance' - really doesn't deserve to be that low, especially amongst what's dropped so far. Its a beautiful track and definitely stands as one of her strongest and better numbers. Its UK peak of #21 always annoyed me , as it just missed the top 20 by the skin of its teeth and we didn't get the planned 4th single the wonderful 'Heaven Can Wait', which would have ended this era perfectly and given us 4 strong singles instead of just 3. How was Cheryl allowed to perform on X-Factor but Dannii wasn't.
