Whatever happened to Hayley.

For a time she was like EastEnders version of Gemma in Corrie (in terms of being used a lot Hayley was way better acting wise)

Then she just gone.

I’d genuinely really like her to come back as well but I feel something must’ve went on behind the scenes or something feels very strange the exit she got. In some ways I’d rather she’d been killed off because at least then Katie could’ve left on a memorable high of a storyline but instead she just vanished. Shameful. I hope we will see her back at some point or at least mention her.

Got to be behind the scenes drama. The new Slater storyline was atrocious, with Kat siding with new boy toy Kush over family and with money that she wanted to keep secret!! Ridiculous. Looks like a hasty replacement for Hayley. Her storyline was still ongoing.

That scene was very reminiscent of Carol finding Billie. I did feel for Sonia, and despite this seeming rushed for Bex she has gone through a lot with the bullying, Shakil's death, the pill addiction and then the pressure of university on top it's actually just been a slow burn in the background for her.

That was emotional. I still think they could have tightened up Bex’s thought process as the build up was a bit sloppy in previous episodes. But it’s good to see Natalie Cassidy get a chance to actually act. Also Lisa’s involvement has been great.

I need more Sonia singing Dancing Queen in my life tbh.

i love that they've used lisa in bex storyline, it just goes to show you should always trust your gut if you think something is wrong. it'll be interesting to see the aftermath of this actually and the actress playing bex did a fab job - you really felt like she was feeling as though everything in her life was just background noise except for the thought of wanting to die
Today was really good, I just can't but feel it would have been more impactful and powerful if they had a stronger immediate build up to it.

I actually burst out laughing when "all around me are familiar faces" started playing. Don't they know that's a meme song? Not the intended impact at all. The music really took me out of the moment; I don't think Jasmine is a strong enough actress at all to pull off this storyline so I was depending the script and direction to give the scenes emotional weight and unfortunately it just didn't deliver for me. The fact they rushed Sonia finding Bex passed out also spoiled things - they should have waited until tomorrow's episode and allowed the silence of the room and Sonia's reaction as the emotional pull.

THIS.

Oh, I am too stressed. I am going to fail. Oh, I passed. Oh, I'm somehow going to Oxford. Guess I'll just kill myself now? Playing that meme song like Hollyoaks was just

I mean... I suppose in soaps we generally appreciate build ups that make us feel that the drama and subsequent emotional impact has been earned & makes sense. In real life though, it’s common that someone’s suicide attempt, to somebody else, appears to have had no obvious warning signs beforehand and that this person’s reason behind feeling suicidal is hard to understand... perhaps there isn’t even a clearcut reason. This person has built up something in their mind as being so awful with no way out that they feel that low & desperate, whereas someone else would think of the same situation... well, how you summarised it in your quote.

So in that sense, I think this Bex storyline does ring true. It’ll be interesting to see what the aftermath of this episode is, if she has unwavering support from her family & friends or if there are any characters who are perplexed and don’t react too well.

There is elements that ring true, unfortunately, for many families they don't pick up on the signs of suicide or people feeling that way and sadly for others there simply is never a sign at all as the person portrays themselves as happy and content. The Bex storyline will help people understand that in some small way. The important part now is how it is handled in the coming episodes.

SCREAMING at Sharon thinking Mel would drop the blackmail for a spa weekend.
A recent interview with Tamzin Outhwaite seems to heavily hint that

Mel will be killer off

and I don’t think I’ll ever be over it tbh.
