Yep, sounds about right to me.

Could it be the gun that killed Ray? I think Mel said she destroyed/got rid of it but I don't remember if we actually saw that happen.

Yeah, that was my thought but surely the police would have had it? Or at least Mel wouldn’t keep it? She was horrified when she found out that Hunter still had the gun.

Omg not Stacey giving Phil a much needed slappin’ dahn!

I guess we know why she’ll be off screen now.

I howled at the following exchange.

Ian: you look like you’re soliciting.

Rainie: you’d know.

I need Stuart and Rainie to be a long term pairing tbh.

I’ve genuinely done a complete u-turn on Stuart and his relationship with Rainie is refreshing to see

It’s amazing what a change in producers can do.

Stuart was a joke last year. A failed attempt at making Mick look like the show’s protagonist. They introduced and interesting thread that he was sexually abused as a child and then mostly ignored it and sent out the message that sexual abuse turns you into a complete nutter.

Putting him with other characters was such a good idea. He seems like a more rounded but still flawed character and it helps that Ricky Champ and Tanya Franks are two of the best actors in the show.

Yeah, I would never have believed it last year that Stuart could be saved as a character. I like that the show hasn't expected us to pretend last year never happened and have Stuart 'redeemed'. He's still very flawed and is capable of doing awful things, but he is much more rounded and nuanced. I love his relationship with Rainie.

I think we all knew that Stacey would be the one to injure Phil but I do like how it built and it's a logical way to accommodate Lacey's maternity and presumably Steve's latest break from the show. It also helps to put the Sheanu storyline on hold (or perhaps develop it further whilst he's away?).

I notice it's 15 years to the day since this classic scene:

This was a couple of months before I started watching EastEnders but I remember watching these clips via the website not that long after. Remains one of my favourite catfights! 2004 was heavily criticised at the time but there was still plenty of iconic moments.

They’ve been spotted literally round the corner from me at our Nene Valley railway line. They renamed the station Walford Common briefly for some scenes that are going to be aired in September. Bobby was the only character spotted.
Chrissie was such a fantastic character that I never want her to return in case they ruin her.

Agreed! One of my favourites but I fear they'd go down the "Chrissie is evil" route when that's never what she was. A bit like when Emmerdale brought back Kim Tate and had as a panto villain (although it seems they've found the balance now).

I'm reading SO many comments on DS in regards to how much better EE is now :drama: I may actually start getting back into it.

It really has turned a corner. Only Mick really irritates me now and he’s only been in it a little recently.

It's been on a roll since February I think. Even poorer moments are drowned out by the generally strong place that the show is in right now.
It has turned the corner alot and I think in another 2-3 months it will have that real oomph that was missing. The chantelle storyline I think could be great as she is playing it brilliantly so far you can feel her fear when watching.

I am enjoying how many characters are getting screen time now and the focus is not not on one family.

There was a long period where the show was totally dominated by the Carters.

I nearly spit out my tea. She looks the same! These "omg this character looks SO different in real life!!!" articles always make me weep.

Omg I know, she literally looks like Bernadette on holiday! I guess you could say that she at least doesn’t look like she’s trying to play someone way younger.

How old is Bernadette anyway?
