And Federer wins the fourth set 6-4. We’re going to a fifth set!!
And Djokovic has won the longest Wimbledon final in history on the first ever final set tiebreak!

that match was crazy. Feel bad for Flopderer but it is what it is.

Can someone gif Djokovic slipping and eating shit bc that was a MOOD

I have to say the final set tiebreak rule is frustrating, especially for the final I’d rather see them play until there’s a winner.

omg yes

omg what a match! Didn't think I'd be sat for 5 hours watching tennis today! I did want Federer to win but I had predict Djokovic early on in the game as he was winning the tie-breaks and seemed mentally stronger than Federer! Really good game all-around and both should be proud of their performances today.

Also who else enjoyed seeing the strawberries & cream and tennis ball fascinators in the crowd?

Great match, went on far too long, killing my sleep, good thing I don't have work tomorrow. Sad for Federer to lose after such a close match but well-fought from both.
It was a really good match. I was rooting for Federer but still happy for Djokovic as both were really entertaining.
Hell of a match, wasn't planning on watching it all but it was really interesting seeing the advantage shift constantly and psychological implications taking their toll. Quite gutted for Federer, it was painful seeing him two championship points off in his own serve and still losing and there surely can't be many more times he'll be in this situation, but Djokavic is a very worthy winner too.

The longest ever Wimbledon final that is up there with one of the greatest finals I've seen. Two warriors. Gutted for Federer. Djokovic is like granite, produced shots from the brink.
A shame I missed this final as I was watching the cricket. The two finals shouldn't have been on the same day. I saw a few points in between overs. I think the final set tie-break they've introduced should really be first to 10 rather than the normal first to 7.

Very sad for Federer but wow what else is there to say about Djokovic, an unbelievable warrior. To save 2 match points against serve then go onto win is something else.

He doesn't quite have the numbers yet but I genuinely believe when the big 3 are all retired Novak will be out in front as the undisputed GOAT. He's got a winning head-to-head record against both Federer & Nadal, has beaten the former on grass and the latter on clay. And he's always against the crowd when playing them both. There's clearly no-one going to win any majors whilst these 3 are around. Nadal will get 4-5 more at the French but then that leaves a probable 3 more each year for Novak.

Federer has the best tennis brain ever, reading of a match, incredible shot selection, amazing positioning.

Nadal has superhuman levels of athleticism, unbelievable fighting spirit.

BUT if scientists were programming THE perfect tennis player, then it's Novak Djokovic.

I disagree I just think Federer is the greatest. It's hard to compare though as they are really slightly different generations I mean Novak has won a lot vs Roger but remember Roger is 6 years older.

Don't read me wrong I much prefer to watch Federer (and his greatest hits highlight reel will DWARF Djok's). Also fully agreed that it's so difficult to compare them all but I think when the dust has settled Djok will better them both in almost all of the main stats. Who knows though I could be premature and he goes completely off the boil like back in 2016 post French Open so it's still a bit of a punt!

I personally think that just because Roger & Rafa are so globally popular (deservedly so) that Djok's achievements are being massively overshadowed and he doesn't get the respect he deserves sometimes.

I think Feds just been on top a lot longer since his teens right until the age of 37. But yeh Djokovic is 32 as well remember so even by modern tour standards that is old. These guys are just making all the rules and records themselves.
