The video effect for this has been really impressive. I think it's gonna be a big hit for her. Somewhere in between SBP & SAI.
In some markets SAI has been almost nonexistent, like in the US. She even sang Sweet But Psycho at the VMA pre-show even though SAI is a newer track, I believe because it's unlikely to take off and they will move on to Torn right away.
I'm going to sound like a complete snob, which isn't intended because I actually have liked her material, but I think it's the complete facelessness of her as an artist. It's very 'seen it all before' without the personality or passion or drive that others have shown. There also doesn't seem to be any artistic journey or correlation - more just three completely different random songs chucked out. The predictable 'I'm a freak' narrative, the 'love yourself' one and now the 'confused lover'. It literally reads like a 'idiots guide to becoming a popstar'.

This may be a reach and not warranted for a throwaway popstar but I don't think it's unhealthy to demand more from artists and have high expectations.

I do like the music as I've said but this explains why I really do not care for her as an ARTIST. I feel there is a mismatch too because I feel she doesn't want to be throwaway, but her music is lending herself to being so. I can't see an album of hers ever being successful for example because there's just no real truth or substance behind the music (so far!).

Tea. Boiling scalding and minty.

Joseph Kahn's normally brilliant but yeah...I'm not a fan :drama:

He needs a substantial budget to work with though. He can't get much out of cheapness. What's more, the fact that Ava doesn't have a clear artistic vision (apart from copying GaGa) doesn't help either.

I legit can’t believe how Spotify have completely snubbed her from every possible playlist! I genuinely don’t know what happened and it wouldn’t surprise me if Radio 1 snubbed it too.

Can’t see this doing anything now, really don’t think it will even make top 40.

I have to say I’m really bored of it already.

Yep I agree - I don’t think this will do anything now. It’s 59p on iTunes but at #37 and getting minimal streaming support - it’s coming up to a year since SBP was released so she needs to deliver another big hit soon if she wants to get an album out.

I can’t even see it going top 75 in the UK. Capital aren’t playing it as much and Spotify don’t seem to want their previous darling on hot hits.
Climbs 93-87 this week - can’t see it doing much better than that now tbh.
There's only so much it can do without major Spotify playlist support or a Radio 1 add. Such a shame.
I’m legit so shocked that she’s had no exposure! So Am I actually sold incredibly well so for Radio 1 and Spotify to pull the plug is surprising! Capital done exactly the same what they did without zara, dropped after a week cause it wasn’t high enough on iTunes

Maybe the $$$ wasn’t there from the record company? They definitely bank rolled SAI to give it the best chance of success after SBP and maybe they thought she had built up enough of a fan base for this to be a hit?

They reduced it to 59p on iTunes but that has almost zero impact on the charts in 2019.

I can’t see us getting an album anytime soon - she now needs to achieve 2/3 consecutive big hits to sell an album and SBP and SAI are too old now to sell an album.
