What's your 'Now' predictions for 2020 then?

I think sales will sadly continue to fall for the main volumes with first week sales dropping to around 30k by the time Now 107 gets released in November

They'll re-issue Now 5, 6 and 7

Another 'forgotten 80's' album will get released along with 'Even More forgotten 70's' getting a release but 'forgotten 90's' won't get a follow up

Another Summer Party Hits album will get released in July

They'll try to capitalise on the success of MOS Love Island spin offs with a 'Now That's What I Call A Love Island' getting a release

A few baffling titles spin offs will get a release

Jenny Fisher will leave Now!

Here are some NOW albums I’m hoping to see get released this year

More than likely.

This would be good to see of course.

Another 'forgotten 80's' album will get released along with 'Even More forgotten 70's' getting a release but 'forgotten 90's' won't get a follow up
I think they will leave the 70’s and 80’s this year and I would imagine and hope that they release an “Even More Forgotten 90’s” and I think it’s the right time to be releasing another Forgotten 00’s album too (this would only be the second they’ve released so far)

Another Summer Party Hits album will get released in July
Usually this is a certainty but I think they may go for a Now Holiday album instead.

They'll try to capitalise on the success of MOS Love Island spin offs with a 'Now That's What I Call A Love Island' getting a release
No thanks

A few baffling titles spin offs will get a release
Thinking of main sporting events for this year with the Olympics and Euro’s happening in the summer. Not much else to plan for that a spin off compilation would be made for, so high probability of revamping other spin offs.

Jenny Fisher will leave Now!
Yes please.

They will continue to push their own streaming service this year too.

I can’t see anything else noteworthy happening but it would be nice to be surprised.

Just 3 years longer and the series will be 40 years old! :o

Just some Hadji...

But if they could only release one of my ideas, then it’s gotta be NOW 100 Hits Trance

Happy new year, NOW Music Buzzjack community!

New year, new NOW albums on the way. The US will start their run on this year's NOW albums with their Q1 2020 release, NOW That's What I Call Music! Vol. 73, which will be released on Friday, 24 January 2020 (quite early, IMHO, just like its predecessor). Its cover art is space-themed, similar to UK's NOW 101 (2018), and of course, their very own NOW 39 (2011), which I both own on CD.

@1214230182418165760

No tricks up their sleeve for its track list this time around, as music news site uDiscoverMusic has released it in full, and here it is:

01. Maroon 5 - "Memories"

02. Taylor Swift feat. Shawn Mendes - "Lover"

03. Halsey - "Graveyard"

04. SHAED & ZAYN - "Trampoline"

05. Selena Gomez - "Lose You to Love Me"

06. P!nk feat. Chris Stapleton - "Love Me Anyway" (Edit: Typo error, I previously typed this as "Love You Anyway". My sincere apologies.)

07. Post Malone - "Circles"

08. Travis Scott - "Highest in the Room"

09. NF - "Time"

10. Dan + Shay & Justin Bieber - "10,000 Hours"

11. Camila Cabello - "Liar"

12. Dua Lipa - "Don't Start Now"

13. Billie Eilish - "all the good girls go to hell"

14. Diplo & Jonas Brothers - "Lonely"

15. Niall Horan - "Nice to Meet Ya"

16. Luke Combs - "Even Though I'm Leaving"

NOW What's Next Bonus Tracks

17. Tate McRae - "All My Friends Are Fake"

18. New Dialogue - "Pilgrims"

19. Tiana Major9 & Earthgang - "Collide" (from the movie "Queen & Slim")

20. Iann Dior feat. Trippie Redd - "Gone Girl"

21. Y2K & bbno$ - "LALALA"

22. Alexander 23 - "See You Later"

It's back to 22 tracks, the first since NOW 65 (2018). Hooray, more value for money!

Edit: I just put all 22 songs in a Spotify playlist, and it only totalled up to 68:31, which leaves 11 minutes worth of space remaining. -_- That's kind of a waste of space, despite having that many tracks, when you compare it to something like NOW 64 (2017), which also has 22 songs, but is 2 seconds behind the maximum CD capacity (i.e. 79:55).

Unpopular opinion: I think it's high time (for hypersonic missiles? :P) for them to go with 17 or 18 main tracks (or more, perhaps?), and maybe reserve 3 or more songs for the What's Next section, especially if songs nowadays remain very short. They could even model the 24 or 25-track discs that the UK NOWs are currently experimenting!

Seven of the songs here, including the What's Next track "LALALA", were previously included in UK's NOW 104 (2019).

I kind of expected "Lover" to be included, since its album version (i.e. without Shawn Mendes) is due to appear on the 2020 Grammy Nominees compilation album, which will be out a week earlier (17 January).

Here's to hoping that any of T-Swift's singles from "Lover", as well as the likes of "Lose You to Love Me" and "Don't Start Now" will appear on UK's NOW 105, which should be out before Easter, so that's either 27 March or 03 April, as Easter Sunday this year is on 12 April.

What do you guys think of NOW 73's track list? :)

Edited by Ken A.

It's a shame there's no Lizzo on it, but that's probably because she's on the Grammy Nominees album instead

Always hate this time of year as it’s so long to wait until the next instalment of the Now series. I’m expecting another April release around Easter. Likely the artwork will get revealed beginning of March and tracklist a few weeks later.

Maybe a spin off release will come sooner though.

Edited by awardinary

Well at least the longer we wait for it to come out the more likely chance there will be a good selection of actual hits on it.
I wonder if we'll see something from Frozen 2 on NOW 105. They've been relying heavily on soundtrack songs at the moment for Disc 2.
When we get NOW 105 in April, I’m hoping they’ll release NOW 5 on CD on that day too but I’m doubtful about it as NOW 5 was released in Summer 1985, not spring 1985
  • 3 weeks later...
Surprised no new spin-offs have been announced yet. This time last year, we already had announcements of new spin-offs. At this rate, the next NOW release will be NOW 105 on 3rd April
People on the Now Muic Facebook group have complained that there are just too many spin-offs though.
People on the Now Muic Facebook group have complained that there are just too many spin-offs though.

The reason why people complained is because they re-use the same songs. If they expanded on the spin-offs by including songs which hardly get used or hardly/never appear on other compilations, it would make them worth buying

Yes I agree.
