Well they can add Ellie Goulding then as she’s heavily supported by R2 and has an album out next month. And also, no one really cares about the R2 artists

They care more about these artists than the flash in pan urban stuff that you keep moaning about not being on there

Steps was apparently considered for Now 105, but what song would they have been considering, will it get an official release before Now 106 release date?

Also, Radio 2 artists are always better than Radio 1, their careers usually prove this. So I would definitely not complain about there being what the general population would consider album filler mixed with Top 40 hits.

If they’re gonna go overboard with the R2 artists, I hope they include Boyzlife as their album comes out the week before

Wouldn't Where We're Going make more sense for Gerry Cinnamon?

Yes and no. WWG may have peaked higher but HITC is more recent

R2 haven’t stooped that low (yet :kink:)

Thankfully there's been a few UK No. 1s between NOW 105 & NOW 106 and I can see at least 3 of them making NOW 106 which will give it some sales.

BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge All Stars - Times Like This

DaBaby - Rockstar

Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande - Rain On Me

Drake is probably a nope, but who knows.

You'll Never Walk Alone might be at the end of Disc 2.

Would love to see some "flop" pop on there. Kings & Queens by Ava Max, and Daisies by Katy Perry.

Add in The Weeknd, Dua Lipa, The 1975, and some of the latest Tik Tok songs and they're halfway there to making the album.

I think Rockstar will appear if they don’t decide to be anti-urban. What they should do to have a good balance of urban is only include urban if it went top 10

I was wondering if it was licensing issues over being 'anti-urban'. It was a big hit to be omitted and considering Rain was included and I do consider that urban.

It’s probably not all licensing issues or being ‘anti-urban’, it’s just that they want to catch the market for the album. People propelling these tuneless ‘urban’ songs to the top of the charts are streaming them so unlikely to buy a cd of the latest hits.

But at the end of the day, it’s about having hits, not flops. When NOW first came out, they only included songs which went top 20. NOW 6 which I hope to see getting the CD treatment next month was the first in the series to include a song which missed the top 40. It’s obviously hard to get hits because of streaming but when it’s a major compilation, people wanna see hits, not flops

Times are changing though? We can’t compare Nows of yesteryear to Nows being released at the moment. As already said if people want hits they can get them straight away on streaming. Now still cater to that but they’ve had their fair share of flops in the past too
As long as they have Kate Bush, I’m good.

She frequently appears on compilations so I don’t see RUTH being removed from the tracklist. The last compilation it appeared on was Ministry Of Sound Chilled Electronic 80s from 2016 which is coincidentally also the last compilation where David Bowie's "This Is Not America" last appeared

I didn't realise how collectable some of these are! Was having a house clearout and found cassette copies of Now 53 and 58 - both I bought back in the late 2000s for a pound or so each, at a car boot sale and in WHSmith when they were clearing out the last few tapes they had in stock. They just sold for £28 and £41 each on eBay!!

I think it's just the 2000s tapes that are collectable - I've got lots from Now 44 and earlier but they only seem to go for a few pounds each as there's loads of those, they become a lot rarer later on. Similar with 1980s CDs and 1990s vinyl copies.

I can’t believe that amazon have removed tracklist information for every music album for sale on there ie. artist and compilation albums
According to amazon, only Bryan Adams has been removed from the NOW 6 CD
