Arkangel is one of those Black Mirror episodes with a fantastic concept but it doesn't deliver those highs that it should. It tells the usual story of the difficulty in seeing your children grow up and adds in the technology of tracking them. My main issue with the episode is that it doesn't really go anywhere and ends on what feels is a damp squib. There was lots of potential in the episode but ultimately it falls flat.

 

21. Men Against Fire (14 votes | 20.00%)

 

 

Men Against Fire has similar themes to Arkangel but is even more hamfisted in its message. It again sees the protagonist with a chip/implant that alters what they see. Whilst it has a significant and interesting message, it is all the more obvious than what you would normally come to expect with Black Mirror. It doesn't really take the plot anywhere either, the 'twist' is essentially the episode.

Agree with Haus on this one. After those there are only a couple more weak spots before this gets tough.

Smithereens and Black Museum for me. I maybe need to watch Museum again, but I was thoroughly underwhelmed by it. Though admittedly I don't remember that much about it now, other than the ending.

 

It says something that everything above Museum on that list is now A+ material. I have no idea how I'm going to choose between some of them over the later rounds.

 

The 2 newer ones will be the next to go for me, even though I did enjoy them.

Smithereens and Striking Vipers for me

Striking Vipers and Bandersnatch for me. 1st is dull, the 2nd was a fun idea but the story was pretty dull

Is Crocodile missing from the list because that's by far my least favourite episode. Possibly my least favourite of episode of TV ever.

Shame to see Men Against Fire out so early, although it's never received much love at all. Mind you I haven't rewatched it or any others from the season, so idk what my thoughts of it would be now. :lol:
