ooooo didn't realise it aired tomorrow in the UK, thought it was quiet in here!

I think it's literally only the UK ffs, it's not on WOW here, BBC have it and for some reason they've done it for 9am tomorrow on iPlayer!

The first episode was very enjoyable; a lot stronger than I was expecting to be honest! Definitely some interesting and fun queens, a bit of a shame Jojo left. Her runway looks were indeed not very strong, but I loved her entrance look and seemed like a great person/personality as well.

This was fun! Not quite the debut Canada or U.K. had but still very enjoyable! Really loving Art, Coco and Anita and the lipsync was fabulous- what a song choice too! Rhys the guest judge is also brill and actually funny compared to the HILARIOUS Ross Matthews. Snatch Game next week too is a gag but I’m looking forward to it!

I enjoyed it too, a good bunch of queens. I'd easily have given Art the win, clearly the best over the two looks. Karen's were good but I think she was kind of like near the top for both whereas I'd say Art was my fave for both looks? Etcetera did great too imo but they seem to be giving her an invisible edit so hopefully we see a bit more of her.

 

The lipsync was FIRE?! I wasn't expecting that for some reason, maybe it's UK being full of often meh lipsyncs but they both brought it and that could have gone either way. Sad to lose Jojo first but Elektra I know has more to give. Coco's first look was so so bad I'd have maaaybe put her in the bottom over Jojo but then her second was good. It was hard bc like Art was the clear winner for me, Karen was a strong runner-up then I'd say Etcetera, then the rest kind of bunched together with Jojo, Elektra and Coco as the weakest with their looks so I can't disagree too much with how it went down.

 

I actually like Kita more than Anita so far which I didn't expect from House Of Drag - for context they're not only Elektra's bosses but they judged a New Zealand drag show called House Of Drag. Elektra competed in it and was the clear front runner, but she didn't win. She did win their celebrity impersonation challenge so she could be one to watch for Snatch Game.

I enjoyed this first episode aside from some questionable editing; things just felt very rushed. But hopefully now that we have the introductions out of the way it will start to feel less restricted time-wise. I do agree with the bottom three and also agree that Jojo deserved to go after Elektra demolished the lipsync, which is a shame because I liked what she stood for and thought she brought something unique to the program.

 

Now as much as I think that Karen deserved her place in the top... winning? When Art Simone was RIGHT there??? Please someone make it make sense. And another thing, Scarlet had no business being in the top when Etcetera was the other very obvious medal position - unless I’m living on a different planet to everyone else? Hmmm. But I guess it wouldn’t really be Drag Race without questionable decisions being made lol. Very much looking forward to the “interesting” Snatch Game next week.

 

 

Yeah I agree it felt a bit rushed, being only around 50 min I think even just an extra 10 min would have been good so that it flowed a little better and you could have got a little more screentime for some queens.

Kinda of meh on it so far, it just all felt a little low budget to me, especially the workroom which looked so small and pretty fake IMO. Also was it just me or was the camera really zoomed in? It was really throwing me off at times...

 

As for the queens no real major opinions but it does feel very cliquey already. I did feel bad for Electra as much as that wig was awful so glad she got her moment in the mini and the lipsync, hope she can step it up. Art Simone definitely should have won, both her looks were top of the night for me where as Karen’s were nothing amazing for me. Also really enjoying Etc Etc so far, would have liked to see her get some feedback on her outfits.

 

I did really enjoy Rhys as a judge, thought he fitted in really well! I do think the panel missed a fourth person though, hopefully just a one week thing.

Haha fair enough I guess, I still can’t get over how small the workroom looks!

 

I guess it is only season one but it does feel very budget compared to US/U.K./Canada. I’m assuming it’s not a big network that picked it up considering the small prize total?

It's Stan which I think is like as big as Netflix here, it does feel very budget though I agree, you can tell the set is small and the camera work whilst I feel it is trying to avoid highlighting it, makes you realise it more? :lol:

 

I expect we'll get used to and tune out of those things though. I liked it anyway but I feel like when we get more staple challenges like Snatch Game, it'll be more enjoyable.
