Why the 60's, rather than any other decade?

I didn't even start school until Apr'70, and I would have learned things like reading & writing, not 'political propaganda'...

Latest from Sky News:

EU leaders could gather for another summit later this month if an outline Brexit deal isn't agreed in time for this week's scheduled meeting.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is hoping to secure a new withdrawal agreement at a European Council summit in Brussels on Thursday and Friday.

This could then allow MPs to vote on the deal as early as Saturday, although Leader of the House of Commons Jacob Rees-Mogg revealed a rare Saturday sitting could not yet be confirmed and was dependent on the outcome of continuing Brexit talks.

Mr Rees-Mogg told MPs: "The events that may require that Saturday sitting have not yet reached their fruition."

Despite the EU's chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier this morning declaring a Brexit deal is "still possible this week", he was said to be demanding a legal text be agreed by the end of Tuesday in order for an agreement to be approved by EU leaders by the weekend.

Briefing foreign ministers from the remaining 27 EU member states, Mr Barnier was said to have told them the latest UK proposals were not yet good enough.

Without a legal text by the end of today, Mr Barnier was said to have told EU ministers he was likely to recommend more negotiations will be needed beyond this week's Brussels summit.

Luxembourg's foreign minister Jean Asselborn said: "There is some optimism, he [Mr Barnier] is trying for a deal tonight.

"Otherwise, we will most probably need another summit later this month."

Belgium's deputy prime minister, Didier Reynders, said: "If we have an agreement tonight it will be possible to go to the Council, and then again to the British parliament. But it's not easy. We have some red lines. They are well known by all the partners.

"And I am hoping that it will be possible today to make some progress."

Asked if there would be another emergency EU summit if necessary, Mr Reynders said: "There are many possibilities.

"But if it's possible we want to conclude today and then have a normal European Council. If it's not we will see."

Earlier, speaking on his arrival at the gathering of EU ministers in Luxembourg this morning, Mr Barnier told reporters: "Our team are working hard."

"This work has been intense all over the weekend and yesterday."

And there we have it Michael. It's not over til the fat lady sings.

For anyone who's sick of Brexit, Sky's launching a free pop-up channel from this evening that's BREXIT FREE. No mention of Brexit whatsoever. What will they report? :o

DARE I HOPE AT LAST. :o

BREAKING.

Boris Johnson appears to be on the brink of reaching a Brexit deal after making major concessions to EU demands over the Irish border.

A draft treaty could now be published on Wednesday morning, according to senior British and EU sources.

It is understood that the negotiating teams have agreed in principle that there will be a customs border down the Irish Sea. The arrangement was rejected by Theresa May as a deal that no British prime minister could accept.

Urgh. Oh. It's just been reported that it's thought a deal has been reached in principle. Similar to May's with border down middle of Irish sea now.

Now the MP's better pass this. Sod the DUP. If he can get enough without them...Will be very very close it's thought though. Could come down to one or two votes. Hope Bercow doesn't have the casting vote.

Sky's analysis: If this does get agreed tomorrow its going to be very very close in the HoC vote. DUP will hate it. ERG could go either way. Ex Tory rebels probably split. Labour against, but up to 40 rebels. Most others against. Could go either way.

EDIT. Steve Baker says he'll support it and try to persuade others to too to get Brexit done. DUP would vote no but all ERG reportedly with the PM.

I suspect this deal will pass.

Funny though...all the filibustering and time wasting has got us what exactly? A deal that's even worse than May's.

Well done Johnso...oh sorry Chris.."Donald".

What an embarrassing time to be British.

ITV News says are saying that Mark Sedwill, who is the most senior civil servant, has said to the Government an election before 12th December is impossible and that date would be the only one doable in December due to logistics of Schools and Town Halls being busy having to host Xmas events etc but that date of the 12th is not a given. It's thought to be too near Christmas too.

If a really shit deal passes because people just want to ‘get it done’ it’ll be a dark day for Britain.

f***. OFF.

Show me where these figures are coming from? Facts please. Smogg ID LYING TO YOU YOU BRAINWASHED GOOF!! Jesus Chris!! THE MODD IS EVEN MORE DEAD SET AGAINST BREXIT IN ALL POLLS!!! The only "atmosphetic change" that lying toad is referring to is THE 100 MILLION PUBLIC MONEY SPENT ON BREXSHIT PROPAGANDA AND BROUGHT ABOUT BY UNELECTED DICTATOR, WHOOPS BEAUROCRAT, CUMMINGS!! Grt your hwad out of the right wing rags.

Brexshit is dead.

I feel sorry foe you. You are so bloody thick and brainwashed.

I suspect this deal will pass.

It won't pass. The only mood he is referring to is the suppose dmood bought by 100 million in propaganda plus untold millions from the one party state media propaganda, particularly in the Murdoch rags. That's it. It will fail.

Well let's see what Deal comes to the table first. If the Deal is very similar to May's and the ERG end up voting for it, then they all look even sillier than they already do and you can't polish a turd.

I'm still not convinced there are the numbers for it in Parliment yet. I suspect Labour would enforce the whip as voting for the Deal is esentially voting for the Tories. Of course there will always be a few rebels, but there are going to need the Independents to likely vote for the Deal (of which I could see a few doing) and a significant number of Labour MPs.

If Corbyn enforces the whip and it fails then Boris can accuse Corbyn of sabotaging the will of the people at the next election which will be true. Labour should want to get Brexit done too.
