08. Camila Cabello - Liar

15. Camila Cabello - Shameless

Which is the official single?

Shameless has a video but both have been playlisted by Radio 1 and Liar has had better Spotify support, so who knows :') perhaps neither are yet and it's like Havana and OMG?

Never Really Over has been a pretty big hit though?

For Katy Perry in 2019, sure.

For Katy Perry in 2019, sure.

I don't think #12 is something to be sniffed at for anybody in this era of the charts tbh

For anyone interested these are the biggest selling female "hits" (as the lead artist) of the year so far. Small Talk was clearly a mistake but Never Really Over was pretty big here.

For Katy Perry in 2019, sure.
For most pop artists in today's climate, sure.*

NRO was a very big hit over here. Disappointing peak, but it feels and generally seems bigger than the peak suggests.

The fact we can't even get to a Top 40 for best selling female hits is kind of depressing.

Hopefully the rumours of Gaga, Adele & Rihanna releasing during Q4 will boost numbers a little. I think Little Mix have one more single scheduled for release at some point.

Joe has shared that list with me a few times and I never noticed it wasn't even a top 40! That really is depressing.

You would think that over time it would be easier for female singers to score a hit but it actually seems to be getting harder.

just read that Camila's video for Liar is also coming out soon... so not sure what's the single, think they don't even know themselves...

on the Katy Perry topic, Never Really Over did amazing and it sure would have been top 10 if Spotify hadn't limited its success, she got support but not huge support and thats what costed her the top 10...

Edited by Bjork

Yeah, if it had the same Spotify support as Mad Love and a discount in the Uk it would have probably peaked a few places higher.

Never Really Over is still top 75 on Spotify despite being off Hot Hits for two weeks now. It's closing in on 200 million streams on Spotify, I think it proves that Katy can still get decent sized hits so long as the song is right.

Agree, with a Spotify support similar to Mabel

Id say it could have even challenged for @1

People seem to be forgetting that she did have great Spotify promo? Her vertical video was high up for 2 weeks

One week. It climbed to #9 on Spotify and the day after they moved it way down.

#12 is nothing to turn our noses up at? It's outsold songs like 'You Need to Calm Down,' and 'Bounce Back' that kept it out of the top 10 at the time.
