Just checked it out! Of course nothing can touch the original but I did appreciate her version too. Classy, lovely vocals and she made it her own.

No problem! Honestly any excuse to talk about my favourite band  they've been #1 for me since I was about 15, so that was super young to get into them. I guess there are many classics in their repertoire that transcend generations! It helps that both my dad and grandad are big fans, the latter actually saw them live twice! But could barely hear them due to Beatlemania screams :kink: It was my nan and grandad's 50th anniversary today and one of their gifts is the 50th anniversary edition of Abbey Road, fitting present *.*

(Keep the votes coming guys! Aiming to get the next round up tomorrow)

Wow 50 years. Happy Anniversary to your nan and grandad. Where did he see them?

Just trying to think if anyone else has recorded Something. They must have but can't think of anyone at the moment. Will Wiki later. I know Yesterday is said to be the most recorded song ever with over 1000 versions.

An incredible amount of time to be together. He saw them at the two shows at Hammersmith Odeon, London, in December '65!

Don't want to take over the thread but do you like The Carpenters version of Ticket To Ride?

Yes I do like that version, really haunting vocal delivery and arrangement of the song. It's great when an artist can change up the original and pull it off - Joe Cocker's 'With A Little Help From My Friends' comes to mind as a famous example!
