Ariana looks guaranteed the top 10!

Do the Spotify lists basically correspond to the positions the Xmas songs chart here?

That is a bit disastrous for Little Mix, especially with all Christmas music getting a big surge.

don't think there's a total correlation with playlists

for instance Fairytale of New York is the last song in the top 2 Xmas playlists + missing in the 3rd

but Im looking at the Xmas playlists with more followers worldwide,

Christmas Hits, Christmas Classics and Christmas Pop,

maybe there's another playlist being pushed to UK users?

Pogues are #3 on Christmas Crackers, behind Slade and Shakin Stevens too so clearly is a more UK centric playlist.
Ouch LM out on day 2 and almost out of itunes top 20 might struggle to even go top 100 officialy

Little Mix need to send some checks and get added to playlists, otherwise they're gonna do nothing

I see some of the top Xmas playlists have the Liam Payne Xmas song, so clearly there's not a very strict quality criterion :)

Mabel's Christmas song isn't doing anything either and she's a bigger streaming force than Little Mix this year. I think it's fair to say we need to be a bit more patient and see what happens when the songs are added to playlists, which neither of them have for the time being.

It’s also worth noting that none of the big Christmas playlists have been updated this week yet, some not for weeks! Christmas Hits was last updated on Monday so I’d imagine it’ll be updated again tomorrow if they choose to add anything new
It's only November 24th. New Christmas songs don't really do anything until December when stations start playing Christmas music. They've yet to be added to any Christmas playlists as well - that likely won't happen right away either.

If we are honest though all the Christmas song efforts so far this year are average at absolute best. One more sleep and Underneath the tree felt like classics the moment I heard them.
Yes but its little mix SLS and Touch (both post album songs btw) they usually peak in week 1
Yes but its little mix SLS and Touch (both post album songs btw) they usually peak in week 1

Love Me Like You: debut #21, peak #11

Hair: debut #31, peak #11 (referring to the single mix only)

Shout Out to My Ex: debuted and peaked at #1, though its highest sales figure was week 2

No More Sad Songs: debut #39, peak #15 (new single mix)

Power: debut #27, peak #6 (new single mix)

Reggaetón Lento: debuted and peaked at #5, though its highest sales figure was its second non-consecutive week at #5

Only You: debut #32, peak #13

Woman Like Me: debut #5, peak #2

Think About Us: debut #34, peak #22 (new single mix)

Bounce Back: debuted and peaked at #10

The only singles excluded from the list above are post-album singles Secret Love Song and Touch, neither of which received a brand new single mix, so they aren't comparable. Therefore, Bounce Back is the only OA/OS era single to have peaked in week 1 - and I think it's fair to say that got a pretty negative reaction even from many stans.

Yikes, that's pretty terrible for 'One I've Been Missing' considering previous debuts then.

It's not a great start really, though it's somewhat a grey area too because it's a Christmas song. It's got no radio or playlist support as things stand, and there's no Christmas songs in recent years from big name artists to compare it to (Leona and Kelly were a while ago now, and Santa Tell Me only really caught on several years down the line when Ariana's name power grew). I suppose there's Sia, though Little Mix have a stronger track record than she does.

I think what will be important is how it manages to climb. I'm not expecting a big top 10 out of it, but a cute top 30 will be good enough to hopefully secure it the opportunity to return in future years. However, that depends on getting Christmas playlist support this year...!

It seems that most of the main Spotify Xmas playlists promoted to me are WW centred rather than UK centred, with songs like Merry Xmas Everybody and I Wish It Could be Xmas Everyday missing from them (which shows in their lower than expected spotty chart positions at Xmas time) whereas the top recomended Apple Music playlists seem to be more UK based

the Little Mix Xmas song is not doing very well at Apple Music either, just checked and it's at #316 right now

the biggest Xmas Spotify playlist (Christmas Hits) is worldwide and it misses the old UK big Christmas songs

but on the other hand it has lots of recent artists,

it has the new Xmas song by Jonas Brothers released this year,

it has Sia, even has the new Liam Payne, it has a George Ezra Xmas song that I didn't know existed,

new Xmas 2019 song by Alessia Cara,

recent ones by John Legend, Gwen Stefani

so I think it's a quite modern playlist and that are making an effort to include new ones, including from 2019, so

Little Mix should have no trouble being added... the list even has a song by Nina Nesbit

Little Mix need to send some checks and get added to playlists, otherwise they're gonna do nothing

LM are on the Apple Xmas playlist!

Is Mabel on capitals playlist?

I think the thing with Little mix is an under performing Christmas single alone in isolation is not a terrible thing. However it feels like they are trying to gain back the general public and it obviously isn't happening.

They put a lot of effort and hype into Bounce back and I think in hopes the General public would latch onto the well known sample. Now it feels like the Christmas song is in hope of it becoming a go to Xmas playlist song.

I think when you try to make public pleasing songs rather than good songs it is a recipe for disaster. Little Mix need to get back to trying to make and release a really good song not trying to get an angle to get it noticed.
