It's been an eventful decade, as ever with Madonna. She's continued to deliver shocking moments, memorable performances, bold fashion statements and three more studio albums.

 

As we approach 2020 and Madonna's fifth decade in music, let's take a look back at Madonna's career in the 2010s.

 

January 2010 - Madonna performed 'Like a Prayer' at the Help for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief charity telethon. She donated $250,000 to Partners in Health, a charity that works to bring modern medical care to the world's poorest communities.

 

 

March 2010 - Madonna appeared on The Marriage Ref, hosted by Jerry Seinfeld and also featuring Ricky Gervais and Larry David. The comedy reality game show gets the celebrity panel to settle real life couple disputes.

 

 

April 2010 - US musical comedy-drama series Glee airs The Power of Madonna, an episode dedicated to Madonna's music after Madonna granted the show rights to her full back catalogue. An EP was also released and debuted at #1 in the US with just shy of 100k opening sales.

Well she definitely got better as decade progressed which is something I feared wouldn’t happen after the beginning era!

I forget how big Glee was back in the day! I was never a fan but I did like that they paid tribute to Madonna.

 

Madonna comes across well in The Marriage Ref and genuinely quite funny! She always does when she's not trying to be! :lol:

Definitely the worse decade for Madonna music! :(

 

I don't feel like there has been a defining Madonna moment this decade which every other one has at least one (if not several).

Girl Gone Wild saved the decade for me. There are a lot of other songs (Masterpiece, Ghosttown, Bitch I'm Madonna...) I like but I don't love them like older tracks.

 

 

 

 

 

May 2010 - Madonna featured on the cover of Interview magazine, photography by Mert Atlas and Marcus Piggott.

 

 

August 2010 - Madonna and daughter Lourdes launch teenage fashion brand Material Girl. Taylor Momsen was chosen as the first face for the brand.

 

 

November 2010 - Madonna appears on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to speak out against bullying.

February 2011 - Madonna attended the Vanity Fair Oscar Party with daughter Lourdes.

 

 

May 2011 - Madonna attended the Met Gala. The theme was Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty.

 

Later in the month, Madonna appeared on the final episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show to pay tribute to Oprah's career.

 

She looked stunning at the met gala 2011!!!!

It's a gorgeous dress and she looks radiant! :wub: The 2015 Rebel Heart look is my favourite but this is a close second, with the 2013 punk look rounding off the Top 3.

September 2011 - Madonna attended the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of W.E.

 

At the press conference, Madonna was handed flowers and can be heard on her mic saying "I absolutely loathe hydrangea".

 

A spokesmen for Madonna defended: "She didn't want to hurt the feelings of the hydrangeas of the world". :lol:
