The last 3 songs all sound good to me especially Lucky Me and Bigger Than. I can't decide which one I prefer. Well, I think I'm going to the robotic vocals. :P

'Lucky Me' sounding like a right tune from a first listen, that's going straight to my personal chart potentials playlist.

'Bigger Than' is rather good too (and is on said playlist from discovering it off your PC a few weeks back), one of their best of recent times I suppose though clearly they'll never come close to the quality of ITAPII and 'Breathe' again.

I quite liked 'Roll With Me' although only enough for a few listens.

Gemini Rising are literally Tensnake and Fiora - they seem to have credited themselves as solo artists as well so it appears on their own Spotify artist pages.

edit: it seems someone else called Lester Mendez is also in the group but clearly he's not big enough to warrant getting his own solo credit.

Ah that makes more sense!

It is a great track, you probably would have done quite well with it as well (I say with my limited hit-detection functionality and 7 DNQs in one year ) Thanks Liam!

Let's Get Lost is a cute little track, never heard of it (or him) before!!

Thought you might like it! I hadn't heard of him before this one but fell in love with Let's Get Lost - thanks Joseph!

Glad you like Lucky Me, it's another great track form The Knocks. What Do You Love still remains my favourite SeeB track although ITAPII and Breathe are not too far behind (Breathe didn't chart for me purely due to it being blocked on YouTube's music policies which skews my 2016 charts a little). Thanks Dan!

As I've just hinted at in Liam's comment, I only managed three qualifying BJSC entries this year, and this is the first of two to make my EOY (ironically enough DHARIA wasn't anywhere near despite being my highest peaker in BJSC this year). Despite this one just scraping in there it is a great dance track, it does take a bit to get into but as you can see it stuck about my chart for ages!

A MORLAND release is always so rare that I have to take whatever I can get, and this collaboration was exactly what I needed. It isn't particularly special in any way really, it's just a really solid pop song with some really solid vocals from both MORLAND and MIIA.

Leon Else pretty much fell off my radar after his pair of BJSC entries, but I discovered this thanks to someone's personal chart and it subsequently went #1 in my chart. This is a perfect example of how I'm becoming more and more partial to minimalist music - it's not got much power to it at all and only has a couple of instruments at best, but there's just something about it that caught me.

Now to a song which just missed out of the BJSC final by a tiebreak (), this is one of the few songs I discovered thanks to a person in the flesh recommending it as opposed to finding it on a forum. The person in particular was my Polish flatmate from last year, and whilst I never heard him play it since I still love it. A birlliant dance song that I thought could replicate the success of 'Broken Love' but alas no, although they both peaked at #4 in my chart.

And for the record, contrary to the artist's name I don't condone beating children.

What a nice concise name. I believe this one also made its way into BJSC, however I knew it quite a while before then (I think the week it went Top 10 was the one just after Christmas). A robotic, catchy, fun indie piece, and a one hit wonder, although this time it's because their follow-ups were rubbish.

A third one-hit-wonder in a row (although these guys haven't released anything else since this yet), this is another fairly minimal indie-guitar track with some fairly soothing vocals with a cute music video as well.

A fourth one-hit wonder in a row (again, not released anything since), I always find it strange how some American rock songs stick with me and some don't. I could listen to something almost identical to this and throw it away as bland, but I genuinely love this song. It debuted the week before Eurovision but lived to tell the tale, pushing up into the Top 10 only a few weeks later.

The highest Niceland qualifier in my EOY this year (still two DNQs to come), I'm aware Lola Marsh have been around for a while now but this is the first song of theirs I've really got into bringing a sound from 10 or so years ago into this song. It's a tune and I'm glad it qualified.

The second highest Eurovision entry now, and the winner of the actual contest, this was only the 6th highest charting song on its debut but went on to become a real standout moment, really showing why it won. He's also the only act from this year to get a second Top 40 hit (peaking at #40, it's so much easier to do these when I don't need to drag out a 4-year artist history).

Great to see "Echoes" and "Arcade" in your top 30!

I haven't heard of Lola Marsh, before this and after "Echoes", yeah I have to say they are amazing!

"Arcade" is a worthy winner in my opinion, can't wait what will happen next year in Rotterdam!

'Echoes' is like an uptempo Lana Del Rey song. I dig it!

Joseph's personal chart maybe? ;) It's the kind of guy I would see in his chart.

Not too keen on Arcade but I loved another song from last year's Eurovision. :P

Glad you're a fan of Lola Marsh, 'Only For A Moment' is another great song from them if you've not heard it already. Looking forward to Eurovision also - thanks Sergej!

Dido has steadily risen in my rankings as her music has gone from being slow and dreary and nostalgic in a good way. Then this came out. It's probably the most interesting of my #1s this year, starting off as a sweet piano ballad before rising into a slow dance-esque beat with chopped voices and plenty of instruments. Quite like a hurricane actually,

Born in Mexico, raised in the UAE but now stuck in America, this is the first I've heard of this guy and his lovely twangy voice. A real earworm, it's neither a ballad nor a fun pop song but it fills in a gap I didn't even realise was there.
