So as this decade comes to a close, looking back we have quite a significant house revival for the most part (with several offshoots e.g. tropical also dominating).

Is there a particular genre of dance you'd like to see make a comeback? Are there are any you think are just dead in the water?

I'd love for the rave era to make some kind of reform, but I think it's just more wishful thinking on my behalf - 20 years since it swept the nation, it would be nice to have some of it return.

I reckon dubstep is done with; depsite it still being there but on the backburner, its chart success days are certainly over.

House is definitely going to continue to dominate though, like it just seems to appeal to the masses and there's so many ways of interpreting it to suit the individual producer.

I'm also keen on the modern disco revival that's going on with the likes of Purple Disco Machine, Adelphi Music Factory and even Mousse T. still banging them out.

Garage could work? Ladbroke Grove is a prime example of how people can still get on board with it and the Spoony's classical album was well received. Someone just needs to take that further leap.

Trance, House and disco would be a welcome comeback for me. I'd also like to see Indie make a comeback into the mainstream too.

28 years or so actually!

Indeed, trance and disco house would be great. Even some new drum and bass hits would be good too, R1 still playlist some drum and bass tracks occasionally but they don't become hits any more sadly.

Nobody predicted just over a year ago now that garage music would make a revival like it has been of late. A very welcome surprise and glad it’s charting too with the likes of AJ Tracey, Rudimental and now Digital Farm Animals. Wonder who will jump on this bandwagon next...
Progressive house? Did it ever go outdated though?

Yes it would be good if it came back when/if the social distancing restrictions end and nightlife resumes. I expect dance music in general will get a boost when/if that happens.

Happy hardcore

It's more likely now with the influence TikTok trends have on the charts now, that a happy hardcore or hard dance track might make the charts again!

I'm yet to be proven wrong here x
