February 8, 20205 yr Author 121 Why Don't We & Macklemore - I Don't Belong In This Club 122 Moss Kena - Begging 123 Lewis Watson - spark 124 Ariana Grande - break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored 125 Andreas Wijk - NuMb ❄ 126 JC Stewart - Bones 127 ZAYN - Back to Life 128 AUSTN - In Betweenin' 129 Bazzi - I.F.L.Y. 130 ZAYN - I Don't Mind Album tracks from Zayn Malik's second solo album Icarus Falls start appearing now, and the first of those is I Don't Mind - a really great track that's among the best that the 27-track (!) beast has to offer. Bazzi's single I.F.L.Y. from earlier on in the year appears here - one of my favourites of his to date. It was probably one of the better songs from his album, released this year too. The album didn't really spend much time in my chart, but it had some good songs. AUSTN appears again, this time with the title track, In Betweenin', from his debut EP. This is such a fun little pop track that is a perfect contrast to his other #1 Mean in my chart (that's yet to come). The second of Zayn's album tracks to appear here is Back to Life - a beautiful track that I feel is quite underrated and never really appeared in people's favourites from the album when I checked with the fans. Bones by JC Stewart is what made me sit up and take notice of him, and it's a gorgeous track - I really can't wait for more music along the lines of this on any EPs or album(s) he releases. NuMb ❄ is quite possibly the highlight of Andreas Wijk's debut album, and while it's not up-beat, it certainly packs a punch. It's a stunning song and really shows what he can do with his voice - it's just a shame we've been waiting so long for the second album he promised almost exactly a year ago now, because more like this would be very welcome. Ariana Grande's break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored was just like everything else she released from thank u, next - didn't click with me at all immediately, but over time grew (apart from 7 rings, which never did and never will x). This is easily up there with the best from the album. spark by Lewis Watson reignited the spark (pardon the pun) in him for me, despite him having released a string of good songs before this. Now I'm eagerly waiting for his next album, which I hope will be fantastic if this is anything to go by. Moss Kena, who supported Rita Ora on the UK leg of her Phoenix World Tour, appears with his single Begging. I gave him a follow on Spotify after seeing him on the tour, and when he released Begging, I was blown away. A fantastic track with such an incredible chorus! Finally, Why Don't We appear again with I Don't Belong In This Club - their collaboration with Macklemore. Again, not the best of their 2019 releases, but it was a welcome change in style (while still true Why Don't We) to their other tracks. Next: 111-120 (Top 300 Songs of 2019)
February 8, 20205 yr Giving In Betweenin' a listen now, a really nice fun track and he's got a nice voice as well. Nice to see some Eurovision representation as well, I really enjoyed Soldi and She Got Me, and Post Malone was a brilliant comeback from Sam Feldt as well. Think I discovered MIDDLE OF NOWHERE from your chart as well, a really nice laid-back track! Oh and The Least That I Could Do is another stellar track from Plested as well. And of course great to see Here With Me in your chart as well, one of the few songs you knew in my EOY :kink:

And of course great to see Here With Me in your chart as well, one of the few songs you knew in my EOY :kink: Hey Pete! :D Glad you like In Betweenin' - the rest of his EP is pretty much more of the same, but on a lesser scale lmao. Soldi and She Got Me are probably my two faves from 2019 - there were others I charted throughout the year but you won't be seeing them in the countdown, oops. :kink: Also glad you liked MIDDLE OF NOWHERE too - it really is so chilled and laid-back. Really hoping we get an album from Plested soon too, he keeps drip-feeding releases every few months or so, and that's not what I'm here for  Thanks for commenting!!
February 8, 20205 yr Author 111 Liam Payne feat. A Boogie Wit da Hoodie - Stack It Up 112 Harry Styles - Falling 113 Stormzy feat. Aitch - Pop Boy 114 ZAYN - All That 115 Jonas Brothers - Only Human 116 Cardi B & Bruno Mars - Please Me 117 Johnny Orlando - All These Parties 118 ZAYN - Good Years 119 AJ Mitchell - Down in Flames 120 Naughty Boy feat. Emeli Sandé & Rahat Fateh Ali Khan - Bungee Jumping Naughty Boy kicks off this section as we edge ever closer to the top 100 songs of the year. His song Bungee Jumping featured Emeli Sandé and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and it's a really stunning song, thanks mostly to Emeli's vocals. I guess this was supposed to start a new album campaign for Naughty Boy that didn't quite come to fruition? AJ Mitchell makes another appearance, and this time it's Down in Flames, one of his best releases in 2019, but not quite *the* best - as there's still a lot more to come from him. Zayn has another couple of tracks from Icarus Falls in this section, and the first of those is Good Years. This is such a beautiful track and the lyrics get me every time I listen. Honestly, I think a lot of people would be surprised at the quality of this album if they weren't so put off by the fact it's so lengthy. Johnny Orlando pops up again, this time with All These Parties from the Teenage Fever EP. This wasn't quite as great as his debut single for me, but it's still sexy and cool. Cardi B and Bruno Mars' collaboration Please Me is probably my favourite Cardi song - given I can't stand most of her other material - and my favourite of Bruno's as of late too - a really decent outing for both of them. The Jonas Brothers' third single from their comeback album Happiness Begins, Only Human, was probably one of my least favourites on the album to begin with, but when it got the single treatment I grew to love it and it has a fun video to go with it - it was also a MOMENT live on tour this week too! The second of Zayn's album tracks to appear here is All That - a moody song that goes off, and ultimately one of the best on the album, please check it out if you haven't! When I saw that Stormzy had a collaboration with Aitch on his album Heavy Is the Head I was elated - and Pop Boy certainly did not fail to deliver - it's amazing. Exactly what you'd expect from both on a song together, and one of the highlights of the album. One Direction solo-central for the final two entries here - Harry Styles' album track Falling, aka the most beautiful track of his to date and the best on Fine Line, is just beaten by Liam Payne's collaboration with A Boogie Wit da Hoodie - Stack It Up. Despite most of the population hating this track, it's probably his best and the most instant of his for me (although that's no hard feat when he's throwing songs like Strip That Down and Get Low out there x). February 8, 20205 yr Author 101 Aitch - Taste (Make It Shake) 102 Why Don't We - I Still Do 103 AUSTN - Mean 104 ZAYN - Satisfaction 105 Post Malone feat. Young Thug - Goodbyes 106 Digital Farm Animals feat. AJ Mitchell - Without You Now 107 Greyson Chance - stand 108 Why Don't We - Come to Brazil 109 Lil Nas X feat. Cardi B - Rodeo 110 AJ Mitchell - Move On AJ Mitchell appears again, and not only once this time. Move On - another of his many singles from 2019 - just misses out on the top 100 songs of the year, despite being among his best. It took its time to grow on me, but it's firmly one of my favourites; a lot moodier than his other singles but top notch. Lil Nas X's collaboration with Cardi B on Rodeo - one of the tracks from his EP - is excellent. From his parts to Cardi's, the whole song is excellent, and it's great to see the song get more exposure with the revamped 2020 version featuring Nas. Why Don't We also have two songs in this section - the first of those being Come to Brazil, a fun track that shows off their versatility as a group. Greyson Chance's stand, from the album portraits, is such a heartfelt ballad that seems to get overlooked by fans, if Twitter is anything to go by. This really clicked with me seeing him live twice, and to see him sing so openly from the heart was endearing and very touching. AJ Mitchell's second appearance here is his collaboration with Digital Farm Animals on Without You Now - a great track that really showcases AJ's vocals in a different way to his solo material. A great song that sadly didn't do a great deal officially. Post Malone steps in with his Young Thug collaboration, Goodbyes. I was so surprised to be loving a Post Malone track, and Goodbyes is the best of what he released from the Hollywood's Bleeding era - although everything was really good to be fair! Another Zayn album track appears, and this time it's Satisfaction. This song appears to be a moody r'n'b track for the first thirty seconds or so, but once the chorus hits, Zayn's voice sounds so vulnerable and beautiful, and the song bursts into something completely different you weren't expecting. For me, it's like the 'fOoL fOr YoU' of Icarus Falls. AUSTN appears again, this time with his #1 single Mean - it managed to stick around for a while in my chart, and it's a beautiful little ballad. Why Don't We's second appearance of the section is I Still Do - probably one of my absolute favourites of what they released in 2019 - just as much fun as Come to Brazil, but with a bit more of a beat. Finally, rising star Aitch's single Taste (Make It Shake) is another one that failed to make it into my chart, but I've loved it since it was released - a great way for him to introduce us to his solo material, and one of the standout tracks from his EP AitcH2O. February 8, 20205 yr Author 10 Lil Nas X Lil Nas X has had quite the year - predominantly due to the roaring success of Old Town Road and its inability to leave the charts. Despite Old Town Road being a great song, there's so much more to enjoy with Lil Nas X. He also released his debut EP, 7, that featured a collaboration with Cardi B (featured in my EOY chart, as well as Old Town Road and other songs from the EP), and songs that he alluded had meanings hidden within them about his sexuality. On that note, he's quite the comedic presence on social media, always ready to hit back at trolls or haters when they have something to say to him. He's also walked the red carpet of plenty events in style with outfits that make me (and presumably many others) lust for him. Overall, his debut EP has me on side, and I'm ready to see what the future holds in terms of a full-length album, or whether we're in for some standalone released before then. 9 Aitch Much like Lil Nas X, Aitch shot to fame this year on the back of the success on songs as a feature artist, but then went on to have success with his own singles Taste (Make It Shake) and Buss Down. Since then, he's gone on to release his debut EP AitcH2O - the title being such a brilliant play on both his name and, obviously, water. AitcH2O is a great EP, introducing us to the type of artist that Aitch is - and as well as that, he's gone on to feature on some other big artists' songs, such as Stormzy. Now, as we head into 2020, let's hope that he continues to bring it with his own releases and any features, and hopefully a full-length album isn't too far away. I was gutted that tickets had already sold out for his tour when I started to really take notice of him - so I'll either be hoping to see him at one of the festival-type events he's attending (like TRNSMT in Glasgow if I get tickets), or when he embarks on another UK tour. February 8, 20205 yr Author 91 Why Don't We - Big Plans 92 Ed Sheeran feat. Camila Cabello & Cardi B - South of the Border 93 Ellie Goulding - Sixteen 94 Kygo & Whitney Houston - Higher Love 95 Why Don't We - Cold in LA 96 Taylor Swift - Afterglow 97 Cheat Codes & Daniel Blume - Who's Got Your Love 98 Normani - Motivation 99 Niall Horan - Put a Little Love on Me 100 Camila Cabello - Cry For Me We're now down to the top 100 songs of 2019, and already I'm looking at this section and weeping that some of these songs aren't higher than they are. Anyway, kicking us off we have Camila Cabello with Cry For Me, one of the many tracks released before Romance was. I kind of went off this after a while, but now I'm back on board and it's such a bop. Definitely one of the better tracks from an album certainly of two halves in terms of quality. Niall Horan's latest release (prior to No Judgement) Put a Little Love on Me is by far my favourite of his in a while - probably since Too Much to Ask. His ballads always seem his strongest to me, and this is no exception. Normani's Motivation was a bop at the time, but it grew quite old for me quickly. It is still, however, that bop, and I'm glad she had she served us this following her collaboration with Sam Smith. Cheat Codes teamed up with Daniel Blume for Who's Got Your Love - and my god this is brilliant. An amazing track with great vocals, and the production is lush. Taylor Swift's album track Afterglow, taken from Lover, is my favourite on the album - a beautiful ballad that really showcases how powerful her songwriting is. Why Don't We appear twice again here - the first of those this time is Cold in LA, one of the earlier 2019 releases. It's a lovely track, and definitely among the best of the twelve they did release. Ahead of that at #91 is Big Plans - the first to be released. This goes off, and was a great way to start their monthly releases. I hadn't really been paying too much attention to Why Don't We until this came along as they'd slipped off my radar, but this got me back on the hype train, and in a big way. Also just behind Big Plans are collaborations from Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello and Cardi B on South of the Border; and Kygo and Whitney Houston on Higher Love. Both are tunes, the former being more sexy and seductive, the latter being an utterly joyous, uplifting anthem. Ellie Goulding is sandwiched between those two songs with Sixteen, one of her best songs since... ever, basically. At least she didn't rely on payola or Amazon for this and let it fizzle out naturally, despite that being a massive shame because it deserved to be big. Next: 81-90 (Top 300 Songs of 2019)
February 9, 20205 yr Author 81 5 Seconds of Summer - Easier 82 Young T & Bugsey feat. Aitch - Strike a Pose 83 Taylor Swift - You Need to Calm Down 84 Charli XCX feat. Lizzo - Blame It on Your Love 85 Picture This - Modern Love 86 Jack & Jack - Lotta Love 87 Ed Sheeran feat. Stormzy - Take Me Back to London 88 Kesha feat. Big Freedia - Raising Hell 89 Taylor Swift feat. Brendon Urie - ME! 90 Lewis Capaldi - Someone You Loved Lewis Capaldi's Someone You Loved is a strange one for me. Despite its success in the UK charts (and further afield), it got to the stage where it annoyed me so much because it was everywhere, so I couldn't listen for so long. Now that the hype's died down, I'm able to love the song more - and it's still one of my favourites. The video, starring Doctor Who's Peter Capaldi (and distant relative of Lewis'), is a stunning watch too. ME!, the lead single from Lover, is Taylor Swift at her most fun, and featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! At the Disco, it was a great collaboration. It hasn't quite stood the test of time like some of her other singles, but it's fantastic nonetheless. Kesha's single Raising Hell was a great way to start the campaign for High Road, and it blends new and classic Kesha all into one treat for the ears. Ed Sheeran's collaboration with Stormzy, Take Me Back to London, was one of the highlights of his otherwise poor collaborations album. Jack & Jack's album track Lotta Love, from A Good Friend Is Nice, is one of my favourites, such a tune and definitely proves they're great vocalists. After listening to Picture This' album MDRN LV, I fell in love with them. Modern Love is the highlight of the album for me, and despite not being completely sold by their performance when seeing the Jonas Brothers live this week, their music is still great so I'm excited to hear what they've got in store with their next album, whenever that may drop. Blame It on Your Love is easily my favourite song from an otherwise underwhelming album by Charli XCX. This had me really interested and invested in Charli again, and the Lizzo feature makes this song the fun, care-free bop that it is. You Need to Calm Down followed ME! as the second single from the Lover era. Taylor was on a winning streak with her fun side, and this was no exception, while at the same time holding an important message within its lyrics and allying herself with the LGBTQ+ community (in the song's lyrics and the music video). Young T and Bugsey's collaboration with Aitch, Strike a Pose, is another song that failed to chart for me, but was a big hit in the official charts, and it's one that I'll go back and listen to a lot - one that solidified my love for Aitch as an artist too. Finally, 5 Seconds of Summer appear again, this time with Easier from their upcoming fourth album CALM. It's one of their best singles to date I think, and really sets the tone for the style they've adopted throughout this era. Next: 7-8 (Top Artists of 2019)
February 9, 20205 yr Author 8 Stormzy I'd never really paid close attention to Stormzy's music during his first era - Gang Signs & Prayer - despite liking his more commercial-sounding songs like Blinded By Your Grace, etc. When he came back with his new campaign though, giving us Vossi Bop, Crown and then of course the full second album Heavy Is the Head, I was in love. Stormzy's had a phenomenal year; featuring on Ed Sheeran's latest album helping him to top the charts, and then going on to return the favour by having Ed feature on his own album making another chart hit. He's also had songs with the likes of Aitch, Headie One, and even burst into the Tracy Beaker theme tune at the end of one of the album's tracks (!!). All of that said, it's been fantastic to love Stormzy's music in a massive way this year, and also go back to rediscover his catalogue. Now I can't wait to watch him tear the house down live when I see him on the H.I.T.H Tour in Glasgow - it's sure to be an incredible night! 7 Jack & Jack Jack & Jack had always been on my radar for some time before they released their debut album A Good Friend Is Nice in 2019. They'd been feature artists on other artists' songs, but even before that they had released a number of EPs dating as far back as 2014, and I fell in love with them. As soon as this album came along though I found myself falling in love with them even more, in a much bigger way. I was gutted I didn't see them on tour when they visited the UK, because I wasn't really keeping up with concerts and when artists were announcing they were doing tours at the time, but I really hope that they come back to the UK if/when we get a second album from the duo! Their album has been such a highlight of the year for me - given it spent a whopping 6 consecutive weeks at the top of my chart, and it's one I'll definitely be playing in full for some time to come. They've also got more songs yet to come in the EOY countdown, so stay tuned! Next: 71-80 (Top 300 Songs of 2019)
February 9, 20205 yr Author 71 Stormzy feat. Ed Sheeran & Burna Boy - Own It 72 Harry Styles - Adore You 73 Plested - Either You Love Me Or You Don't 74 Jonas Brothers - Rollercoaster 75 Camila Cabello - Dream of You 76 Lauv - Feelings 77 Sigma feat. Louisa - Here We Go Again 78 5 Seconds of Summer feat. Julia Michaels - Lie to Me 79 Matteo Markus Bok - In the Middle 80 P!nk - Walk Me Home Walk Me Home marked the quick transition between P!nk's Beautiful Trauma era and the beginning of the Hurts 2B Human era. This is quite possibly one of my favourite P!nk songs to date - it's a beautiful song and has everything about classic P!nk that I love, while at the same time managing to sound fresh. Although not technically a 2019 single, Matteo Markus Bok's In the Middle was instantly my favourite from Matteo's album Cruisin'. It's the definition of a perfect pop song, and his voice sounds sublime. Lie to Me was always my favourite song from 5SOS' third album Youngblood, so when I heard it was getting single treatment, I was over the moon. Julia Michaels, on paper to me, really shouldn't have worked but they managed to make it just as good as the album version - and it's the one song from the album I'll keep playing on repeat. Sigma's collaboration with X Factor winner Louisa Johnson was a massive surprise for me. Here We Go Again is an amazing song, it's got the beat, it's got the drop and her vocals are fantastic on this. Lauv's Feelings isn't his best release of the year, but I still enjoy it and how open he is as an artist about exactly how he's feeling. Long may he continue to champion breaking down the stigma attached to mental health. Camila Cabello and Jonas Brothers appear again in this section - Dream of You is one of the best album tracks from Camila's second album Romance, and managed to reach the top 10 in my personal chart, while Jonas Brothers' album track Rollercoaster is, along with another that's yet to appear in the countdown, is one of my highlights from Happiness Begins. It was such a MOMENT to hear this live on tour through the week, and it was a perfect way to kick off a night celebrating just how great an album they've come back to us with. Plested's single Either You Love Me Or You Don't is a great song and the one that has me most excited for more new music from him - it's a lovely track that sounded lush live too. Harry Styles' next appearance is in the form of Adore You, the second single from his sophomore album Fine Line. With all the mysterious promo about a place called Eroda (Adore backwards x), we weren't quite sure what to expect, but it's great that we've ended up with Harry at his most authentic to date on tracks like this. Finally, closing this section we have Stormzy, my #8 artist of the year, with Own It - his Ed Sheeran and Burna Boy collaboration. It's stuck around for a while in my chart, and managed a top 10 peak, and it's been faring very well officially too! It's one of the most commercial sounding songs on the album, and it's so addictive. Next: 61-70 (Top 300 Songs of 2019)
February 9, 20205 yr Author 61 HRVY - I Don't Think About You 62 JC Stewart - The Wrong Ones 63 Scott Helman - Everything Sucks 64 Jonas Brothers - Strangers 65 Greyson Chance - west texas 66 AJ Mitchell - Say It Again 67 Reuben Gray - Temptation 68 PRETTYMUCH - Blind 69 Greyson Chance - yours 70 AJ Mitchell - All My Friends AJ Mitchell appears again with another two songs (it's now starting to feel like he's released about two albums' worth of songs in 2019, but hasn't yet released an album), the first of those being All My Friends, a ballad about all his friends falling in love and not him, and it's really cute. Greyson Chance also has two songs in this section, and the first of those to drop out of the running is yours. This was never one of my early favourites from portraits, but over time it's become such a gem and it's definitely among the highlights when you listen through from start to finish. PRETTYMUCH scored a #1 in my chart with their single Blind - a change in direction for them since it was a ballad and not their usual rap-pop type song. Probably my favourite song of theirs to date. Reuben Gray, Britain's Got Talent alum, released a couple of singles in 2019, and one of those - Temptation - appears high up here. I loved his original songs on BGT, so I was ready to hear what he'd release after. This, along with his other material is first class. AJ Mitchell's second appearance in this section is Say It Again, a true pop bop that really goes off in the chorus, and his smooth vocals really send you to some sort of dream realm when listening. Greyson Chance's second song in this section, west texas, was the song he opened his portraits tour with, and the fifth song on the album. It's a very personal song, followed on the album by a story about his mother. It's really cute, and one that you can really resonate with in the lyrics. Definitely one of my highlights from an album full of... highlights. Jonas Brothers' album track Strangers from Happiness Begins is my absolute favourite track from that album, singles aside, and it really clicked with me on first listen. Hearing it live during the week on their tour was such a moment too. I'm glad I got to experience that and can relive the moment forever since I recorded it all. Scott Helman and JC Stewart, two of my favourite discoveries, appear here with Everything Sucks and The Wrong Ones, respectively. Everything Sucks managed a top 10 peak in my chart, and was just what I needed to hear from Scott after loving his debut album and yearning for more. JC Stewart scored his first #1 single in my chart with The Wrong Ones, and it's such a beautiful track. It's mid-tempo, but still manages to tug on my heartstrings. Finally, we have HRVY making an appearance with his cute single I Don't Think About You - released very early on in 2019. It's not his best song, but it's so relatable and adorable - exactly what you'd expect from HRVY really. Next: 5-6 (Top Artists of 2019)
February 10, 20205 yr Author 6 Jonas Brothers Fresh off the back of seeing the Jonas Brothers live in Glasgow last week, my love for them has reignited after not having listened to their album Happiness Begins for some time. Having said that, Happiness Begins and the singles they released prior to that really were the comeback nobody knew they needed in their lives. They drew us all in with Sucker, then stayed true to form with Cool before leading us into a perfect pop album that really showcases the artists they've become, and how much they've grown since their younger days (and their solo careers). I've been excited by just about everything the Jonas Brothers have done in 2019 (and Nick in particular, but for other reasons xx) - and I can't wait to hear new music from them as we head into the new decade; it's already off to a fantastic start with What A Man Gotta Do - serving us the bops like there's no tomorrow! They've had a lot of success in my personal chart in 2019, so I can only hope they can replicate that success going forward if there's another album on the cards anytime soon. I'm ready for Jonas domination, level two! 5 Lauv Lauv started the year by luring me into being a fan of his with his Troye Sivan collaboration, i'm so tired... From there, I was hooked on his voice, and following him as an artist to where he is now - about to release his album ~ how i'm feeling ~ in 2020 following a string of incredible singles in 2019. Not only are Lauv's singles incredible in the audible sense, but he's a proud LGBTQ+ ally, and he also isn't afraid to speak about, literally, how he's feeling in his music and his mental health. This is something that I find so admirable in an artist, and I think Lauv is what other artists should aspire to be with their authenticity and rawness. Lauv's an absolute hoot on social media too, and is in the middle of releasing videos of him portraying one-man boyband characters (all of the little multi-coloured people from his album cover) and it's hilarious. I can't wait for more Lauv in 2020 because he's made me smile so much throughout 2019! I'll also be seeing him live in November, so I'm beyond excited for that ~ Next: 51-60 (Top 300 Songs of 2019)
