Why is this promo single getting playlist support on par or even greater than BUS and Holiday? Other than HHUK.

I agree- instead of having a promotional single today, I would have preferred a single announcement for Sweet Melody for a release next Friday instead- and then possibly a promotional single maybe a week before the album release.

 

No one "huge" is releasing at the moment, this is their perfect chance to release a single before Christmas singles begin overtaking the charts.

Now we’ve heard three tracks from this album how are people feeling the sound will be for this era?

 

All three tracks we’ve heard so far have all been quite different so I’m wondering what the theme is for this album. I love Get Weird and Glory Days especially the former so I wonder if they’re trying to recreate that sound and step away from the more mature sound the had on LM5.

Yep. This will just be an all out pop album. It could sound very messy/incoherent but everyone want pure pop Mix back and that's what they're giving us aha. As long as I get an album full of pure pop joy, I don't think it'll matter much more to me.

 

More BUS type songs please! Wholesome, 80's synths, unbridled joy.. :heart:

I'm completely seeing the "natural pop album" that's very fun. And from what others have said about the album there's a lot more standout tracks to come and the cohesion seems to be decent, so at this point all I can say is that I'm loving it. I didn't dislike LM5 like others did, it was still "little mix" for the most part, but I do understand the need for pure pop mix cause it's just so good.

Popular albums do well on there even before release. It means it'll get a good first week streaming.

As I recall LM5 was charting decently well during the run-up, albeit with more songs (?) or the same? I'm not sure what was released officially by that point as a few songs leaked, too

They released Joan of Arc and Told You So before the album, if I'm not mistaken.

 

The former charted at 61, whilst the latter at 83.

I would start moving expectations to possibly the Friday after lol.

 

I'm a bit confused with The Search and its schedule at the moment..

 

Initially we had 10 episodes, then it was extended to 12- but now according to @superTV247 we're only getting 1 episode on the 17th, and nothing on the 18th.

 

Once per week means that the show would end on the 7th, which works for them and would make the 23rd the perfect release date for Sweet Melody. And I doubt the BBC are going to pay for a further 2 episodes when ratings haven't been amazing? It's all confusing, I'm just trying to sus-out when the best release would be for single #3.
