It appears to be raining... That might make for some excitement.

Well it gave us 10 good laps at the start.

And the most exciting bit was before the grid formed up

that was a pretty boring race to watch

did Albon really dry his grid area? :D that's a pretty silly thing to do if true

Not a classic but still a few moments of interest. Verstappen is a lucky, lucky boy with that pre-race crash but props to him fending off Bottas. The Mercs are even further ahead of everyone else than in the past 6 seasons

Stroll deserves some credit this weekend too. Comprehensively beat Perez in both Quali & the Race.

Also how the hell did Kimi line up in the wrong grid slot when he started plum last? Haven't been able to find any footage of that.

Max Verstappen, Car #33, currently has 33 points in the Championship, and took his 33rd podium of his F1 career.
Latest reports suggest a deal is done to announce Imola, Nurburgring and Portimao have been added for this year

HUGE yes to those 3 :cheer: Imola in particular as it's been such a long time since!

I hope the F1 2020 games offers DLC for the additional tracks because I loved racing on both Imola & Nurburgring back in the day.

Italy hosting 3 GPs this year then after being the original epicentre of Europe, well well well.

Agreed. I'm guessing it'll be German, Portuguese and San Marino Gps by name

Oh and apparently China is finally cancelled

If Imola produces a race like 2005 + 2006. Great to see that return and Nurburgring. Yes to all 3.

Isn't Nürburgring just in talks "providing it makes economic sense" at the moment? I'm sure I read somewhere that F1 are reluctant, due to the October weather up there...

At this stage, everything seems to be indicating that Portimão and Imola are pretty much confirmed! Will be good to see two new circuits feature on the calender with the potential for two returning circuits (interestingly doubling the number of new and returning circuits on the initial calendar [despite neither of them featuring in the end]).

Who knows: if any of these circuits offer great racing (particularly Portimão - only recently granted Grade 1 status), maybe they'll stand more of a chance of featuring in future seasons!

Definitely would be more invested in more passionate, thrilling European races on the calendar than soulless Tilke-created car parks in the middle of nowhere with zero atmosphere going forward.

All three have been confirmed. Surprisingly, and sadly Imola won't be the San Marino GP but the Emilia Romagna GP, nor is the German GP back. I am however all in favour of the hugely evocative and nostalgic Eifel GP.

As to their continuing chances to host again, much depends on Liberty Media. It was Bernie who ditched many great tracks in favour of global presence and cash and it remains to be seen whether LM will have a rethink there- Zandvoort could arguably have been as much about the cash as it was about a great circuit. On top of that pretty much every track on the original 2020 calendar is under contract and those cancelled this year will surely be first in line.

Less than half of the original 2020 calendar - Spa, Monza, Silverstone, Monaco, Suzuka, Zandvoort, Interlagos, Gilles Villeneuve and the Osterreichring - can realistically claim to be traditional, great tracks yet there are so many other great tracks now lost. I hope you're right and that they can remain but it always comes down to money in the end.

Apparently Istanbul Park has offered it's services to F1 for the 2020 calendar.

I've seen that rumour but I've also seen it dismissed due to the low daytime temperatures, poor track condition and the genuine possibility that Vietnam and Malaysia will put forward a double header for Nov 15/22 before the trip to the Middle Eastern races

I hope that happens! I've played Vietnam on the F1 game and it's certainly going to be interesting in the same vein that Baku was.

And Sepang is probably Tilke's best ever creation so would gladly have that back on the cal.

Sergio Perez is out of the British Grand Prix after testing positive for COVID-19. I wish him all the best.

Who's Tracing Point's reserve driver? Hope someone's able to get their first shot in F1!

And... Hoping for a speedy recovery for Checo!
