The mercs went into that first corner like Grosjean in a lotus at Belgium 😫

We had such a cracking pair of starts before the mercs f***ed us in the first corner

wow great race, so many ups nd downs

the best pilots showing up again, Hamilton, Sanz, Perez, Norris

and the worst ones making it clearer than ever they suck especially Bottas, how many times did he spin?

What a great race. How on earth did Stroll manage to end up over a minute behind after leading all that time though, it was like he just lost it once the win had escaped him. Perez was amazing yet again, if he doesn't get a drive next year then it will be the biggest crime in F1 for quite some time.

Well done Hamilton on the 7th title though, he drove very well today and highlighted again how well he has managed his tyres and performance this season. I think it's been one of his strongest seasons ever.

Genuinely great drive from Hamilton. Maybe not the fastest or most exciting but used all his experience and was consistent and flawless.

A bit of a shame for Stroll who's clearly capable in the wet but outclassed by Perez in changeable conditions but he will learn from that. Verstappen showed his quality again but threw away a win with a rash move of the kind he doesn't usually do these days. Impressive drives from both Ferrari drivers too.

Unfortunately the difference in ability between Hamilton and Bottas was given stark clarity today. It's probably harsh on him overall but that was one of the most inept wet weather drives I've ever seen even if he did have damage.

but Bottas is Finnish, he should be used to the rain, it's not like he's from Canarias or something :D

was disappointed again with the Red Bulls, again Verstappen showed he's good but not Hamilton yet... and Albon as bad as usual

It was a great race. Was mad to see Stroll fall so far back, finishing behind even Norris who had the same pit strategy, makes the race for 3rd interesting still as looked like RP had it nailed after that qualy.

Pleased for Hamilton, he has been great again this season and whether down to the different tracks adding to the unpredictability or the more bunched up field it's felt nowhere near as dull as some precessions to the title have.

That was some race, great drive from Lewis Hamilton to win and claim his seventh world title. Certainly didn't think it would be 16 years before someone equalled Michael's record of world titles.

saw this on the Italian press today, which perfectly summarised yesterday's race: Hamilton 10 Bottas 0 :D

Even with rain races there are different kind of wet weathers which makes a question what makes a wet race.

Full wet race (Turkey 2020, Brazil 2016)

A race that starts wet, then dries out (Germany 2019, Monaco 2016)

A race that starts dry, then rain in the end (Belgium 2010, Germany 2000)

A race that has rain phase in the middle (Britain 2002, Japan 1993)

A race that has drizzle in the middle, with no reason to change tyres (Germany 2018, Japan 2000)

The unusual thing about the 2020 Turkish GP was that at no point did the track dry out enough for slick tyres to be a genuine option despite there being no significant rain during the race.

For a moment there I had flashbacks to Ronnie Peterson. So glad he's ok.

Minor burns and a suspected broken rib.

I don't care how ugly the HALO device is, it just saved another life. I can think of at least 3 similar accidents and 2 drivers - Cevert and Keonigg, were decapitated, the other was Jochen Rindt.
