CP-1 is the first track to appear on iTunes in at #1142

Really like both. CP-1 is my favourite of the two, but the piano riff in Hypnogogic is amazing!

hmm can't see either of the tracks going top 40 now I've heard them, but he's not doing this for chart positions anyway.

I don’t think it will chart in the Top 40, neither song that is. It’s not commercial enough and choosing to drop his trademark name “Calvin Harris” in favour of a new guise is always risky. It’s like expecting David Guetta to get a Top 40 single as his alter ego Jack Back.

 

I wonder if other DJ’s will follow this trend.

Is it a trend though? So many dance music artists have gone by different names/aliases over the years, some successful and some not. I’m keen for chart success but if it doesn’t happen, as he said on Radio 1 earlier he’s making music that makes him feel good in the hope it makes others feel good and that’ll be the success of this project for him.

Hypnagogic is very 1991-1992, whereas CP1 sounds like it could have been a low top 40 dance track from the year 2000 - in fact the stuttering vocal bit reminds me a little bit of Flickman - Sound Of Bamboo from that year! Both new Calvin tracksare very good, I prefer 'Hypnagogic' though.

Both tracks are really good and I'm loving that they are so 90s. However, "CP-1", named for Chicago Pile-1, is on another level. I wish this was chosen as the main single though.

CP-1's radio edit also has a cool visual but no edit video for Hypnagogic which is odd.

The only reason I could think of that there's not a visual for the edit of "Hypnagogic (I Can't Wait)" yet is because there will be a proper video to be released soon.
