She won't release a week later. BMG have Mcfly releasing on 13th and Steps on 27th.

Would have to bring it forward a week. But maybe they are confident. BMG usually have something up their sleeve

BMG know what they are doing and have proven time and time again that they excel on marketing and fan base selling without the need for knee jerk price reductions, and getting acts to sign anything in their path on a quest for #1.

They have already said pre-sales are matching the pace set by Golden so decent numbers are certainly there already, LM will obviously be offering a tour pre-sale code with a pre-order but there is only so much money fans have - they might opt for 1 format rather than 6 to get the code as they will have tour tickets to pay for.

The tour bundle sale is big America and does only work for a week but does help acts get a much higher peak position, i wonder will it become more popular in the UK.

That's stopped being a thing in the US a few months ago: https://www.billboard.com/articles/business...-ticket-bundles

What occurred in the US isn't comparable to what happens in the UK. Here, if you pre-order a physical on an artist's official store, then you're sent an email with a code that can be used in a tour pre-sale (this practice has been happening for quite a few years). Sometimes you can add a CD/download while buying a ticket. However, this doesn't make it a bundle, because it's an optional addition to the order. In the US, a concert ticket would come with the album bundled with it, i.e. you were technically paying for the ticket, not the album... yet a ticket sale = an album sale. Ticket buyers would get the album whether they wanted it or not. That doesn't happen in the UK.

Sam Smith releasing week before Kylie end of October. He could see very well for quite a few weeks.......

Sam's sales won't be big enough in week two to dethrone Little Mix or Kylie. I can see their first week sales being similar to Kylie's tbh, but Kylie will comfortably outdo Sam's second week I'd say?

Sams latest album will sell a lot than than what their last one did.

I mean Sam does have quite the fanbase for week one but their popularity has dwindled massively from their last era to now, they need a SMASH leading up to release to stand a chance. I don’t think Sam would even be a threat had they released in the same week tbh, Kylie will easily sell more on her debut week than what Sam would on debut week for them.

Sam Smith will achieve Number 1 but I don't see that his sales will be any higher than Kylie's.

Sams last album only sold a quarter of his debut.

Remember that Sam's pronouns are they/them, not his/him!

I just really hope Kylie can get that number 1 in the end, i remember with kiss me once i was sure kylie would beat george michaels live album released the same week and she trailed a good bit.

By about half!

If we didn't know them then how would we know or how would be address them?

By about half!

She didn't have the formats then. They are more savvy now. I would keep a special stash of vinyls that they may release for Xmas and have them ready to release midweek of release week in case it is close.

Kylie should get good streaming on week one too. Won't be as much as Little Mix but will be better than usual

Also

Kylie has Vinyl Say Something out of 6th and then Right Here Right Now vinyl with Moroder out on 13th. Could be good couple of weeks in singles physicals chart

Streaming usually crucifies kylie and many other acts, i cant see kylie coming anywhere close to half of littles mix streams but i hope im wrong.

Well if Pippa didn't know, she does now! Sam mentioned their preferred pronouns last year.

There were still a few! Standard CD, Deluxe CD, Vinyl (including a CD) and a Box Set (including Vinyl and CD). Four different formats was more than a lot of artists at the time would release... many were still only releasing one CD version! George was only released on standard CD, Deluxe CD and Blu-Ray (not sure if the Blu-Ray would have counted towards the album chart). His vinyl came out many months later.

Here's the comparison between Golden and LM5 first week sales - but bear in mind that LM5 was released just before Christmas, so would naturally achieve higher sales:

Golden (Friday 13th April 2018 chart)

37,152 - Physicals

9,010 - Downloads

1,870 - Streaming

48,032 - First Week Total Sales

LM5 (Friday 23rd November 2018 chart)

41,293 - Physicals

6,091 - Downloads

9,457 - Streaming

56,841 - First Week Total Sales

I suppose an interesting thing to take from this data is that LM5 sold 67% of the downloads Golden managed. LM5 managed 5 times the amount of streaming than Golden.

Looks like a Little Mix win.

Unless Kylie has something like An Audience with Kylie at Home ITV Special on the Saturday 7th Nov lol
