It’s been confirmed on Digital Spy that

Tonight’s was Habiba’s final episode

Lol what an anti climax.

Now is Stacey's attack something she has done or a warning for Kush?

What a disappointing shit exit for Habiba, a potentially really good character although I guess she was more just a bit of comic relief, a background character, the sort who never stay that long. Still a shame though :(

They’re dropping like flies and it’s rubbish that characters like Habiba never get used properly. That was totally a ‘I’ll be back in two weeks with a new haircut and outlook’ kind of exit, didn’t feel permanent at all. Now Iqra’s on shaky ground too.

Anyway, the police officer who put her career on the line getting to close to Phil-are we looking at a Kate Mitchell return? Or Marsden?

I'd be down for a return from either of them but it's got to be Kate he was talking about surely

Kate would be great but how would a return work for her I can’t remember how she exited actually and who else she was connected to her in initial stint. I remember when Chrissie cut off her hair though

Am i the only one who thinks this exit is a bit OTT she only dated jags for like two weeks and is like "hell with my family, this boy is important"?

A very abrupt and quick exit for her. Almost as though it was a speedy decision to write out the character.

I guess she could always come back as she does have a sister on the show but she didn’t get the chance to really do much in her stint. I’m glad she wasn’t killed off though.

Lacey Turner. That Stacey scene where she reminiscing about Bradley was the most heart EastEnders has had in a long while. Shame everything else was shit.

It really was the most genuine moment of the whole episode.

I always liked the concept of Denise raising a Mitchell child but they went ahead with the adoption and now this is ludicrous and it feels like we’re just waiting for them to get to the end point.

I'm really pleased that both Jags and Habiba are gone. It's like somebody from the EE production team actually watched the show back during lockdown and realised how absolutely awful they both are.

I was LIVING for that (I think) Kate Mitchell reference. I'd love her to come back.

Anyone else really enjoyed the last week or two? I feel they're finally hitting their stride!

Meh, there was a couple of episodes where I was like "is EastEnders actually getting quite decent again?" but there's still so much that is poisoning the show right now.

It’s had its moments but it’s still not on fire. The aftermath of Chantelle’s death has been poor except for scenes with Kheerat. There’s too much of Ballum, Stacey had become pretty awful until last night and I’m not invested in this Mick storyline at all. And lots of characters have been shoved into the background like Sonia, Stuart, Rainie and bizarrely Dotty who all had a lot going on before the break but now not. I’m not sure why Bernadette never gets screen time either.

Sonia getting a car from a patient was extremely random. I wonder if they’re linking this to her father.

I m not sure why Jack is that bothered Raymond is a Mitchell given most of his own children are.

Sonias car was random.

But I am really liking Stacey in her scenes with Kheerat! She’s such a great actress and character there’s times when Stacey really gets to me and I think why is she like this then other times I love her but I could never fault Lacey as an actress.

Chantelle’s aftermath though hasn’t been all that. Did we even see her funeral? We’ve barely seen anyone grieve for her. There was no red flags raised over her body as well as surely the post mortern would’ve raised some questions on marks / bruises etc on her which would’ve been unrelated to how she died. She had such a fantastic final week on screen and an incredible death episode but since that it’s just been flat.

But I am still thinking that this is the best British soap on TV right now.
