Debuts at #5 this week with 8.5k sales.

I expected it to do slightly better, but a top 5 album still looks pretty good, hopefully it doesn't landslide too hard.

If it continues to get around ~600 sales per day, that should put it comfortably Top 20 next week.

I don't see it quite doing that, but I imagine it'll fall to about #29.

Those sales are hugely underwhelming and disappointing :nocheer: Did they count the bundle sales and physicals from the store because I can't see how the sales can be that low with those added in. I can't see any song from the album making a huge splash now so not even sure what can salvage the campaign.

I’m surprised her sales are as low as that. Tbh though on my Twitter for example I’ve seen pretty much nothing about this album being mentioned by those I follow etc and I follow a lot of pop music pages and fan pages of artists too.

 

When I was out with some friends earlier too I mentioned this album and a few of them were totally unaware that she’d released a new album. So it could be that too.

 

I think the album could’ve stood a better chance if it had been released last year (like when Never Really Over was a genuine hit) by the time we got the album it felt like the hype kind of dried up and people lost interest. It’s a shame it’s performed this way as it is a step up from Witness.

 

I agree that I can’t see anything else making a splash on the charts either. She should just get some features under her belt like what Xtina did when her solo success dwindled.

Also.. is there a vinyl for this now available to buy? They can usually sell quite a bit and sometimes make the difference between getting to #1 on some occasions. If there’s one still to come that could boost it on that chart week. If there already is one though then idk.

The cream standard vinyl, red HMV vinyl and picture disc were all available, as well as standard CD, deluxe CD and cassette.

 

However the custard Spotify vinyl isn't shipping for a couple more weeks, while all the different limited artwork versions (5 CDs and 5 picture discs) won't count towards the chart until early November!

Speaking honestly, that opening is...bad. If it didn’t have bundles maybe it’d be respectable but it does :(

I wonder how many extra sales it could’ve gotten had the other editions mentioned been available and if it’ll randomly jolt back up the chart during that week when they’re available or if it won’t make much difference at all.

 

The fact she sold less than both Gaga and Taylor’s week 3 though oops. I mean I obviously wasn’t expecting her to match their debut week on sale but I thought she’d have managed around 4-5K more than what she did.

I think the position is okay, just the sales are extremely disappointing.

I think the sales will drop big this week. I’d be surprised if it stays T30.

That’s around where I expected it to be. She might manage to stay top 25 then depends if those directly below her will stream better as the week progresses.

it's a victim of poor singles... 'Smile' (though a grower) should never have led the album... i'm not even really sure 'Daisies' should tbh...
