Watched both Kill Bill films last night... I had trouble staying awake.

I can never make up my mind about what I think of the second one. I liked the addition of the flashback to the wedding rehearsal at the start giving us more of it, but I still get bewildered at how

The Bride escapes being buried alive

. Also I can't help but feel that the

eye-snatching

was unintentionally funny.

i bought The Shrink is in for 13p on Amazon

great movie, Courteney Cox

i then went on to watch Scream 3, best one of the series.

Couldn't resist buying John Carpenter's 'The Thing' from Asda a few days ago for just £2! Watched it just now (yes I have seen it several times before) and it is still one of the best films ever. I loved the original but this is one occasion where the 'remake' (although some don't consider it to be a remake) is far, far superior.

Not a film but I'm reliving my childhood (even though I only left it 6 months ago) and treated myself to the Saved By The Bell Season 1 DVD set that was released a few weeks back  Still such a classic show and suprisingly grown up, I was shocked to find it had a 12 rating when I first brought it but some of the jokes are rather adult.

Cadillac Records. That film should shut up any Beyoncé hater who say she can't act :kink:

Watched Shutter Island and The Bounty Hunter yesterday

AMAZING ones, especially SI, but Aniston was as good as ever too

I watched The Warriors last weekend, haven't watched anything since.

Watched 'The Crazies'.

Rather laughable considering the guy didn't get sick even though this woman, the wife of the first person who got sick, literally donated blood to him, i.e. his vanes

Valentine's Day

Easily the best movie i've seen this year so far (though i have 'A Single Man' in the queue so it might be not for long).

Julia Roberts was stunning! The best actress everrrrrrrrr

Also to say Jennifer Garner was fierce is not to say anything. She was incredible! But tbh her play in 'The Invention Of Lying' is still unbeatable though.

Ghost Town, on Monday ... I love the film ... Ricky Gervais is wonderful with fab support from the brilliant Tea Leona (possibly my favourite actress of the last few years) and Greg Kinnear (I doubt this guy has ever given a bad performance in anything I've seen him in.)

Just received 'Alligator' this morning from play.com! Cannot wait for us all to watch it on Friday night ... have been waiting a while for it to be available on Region 2. Alligator is one of the best films of its type. A creature feature, with superb, funny dialogue and an excellent central performance from Robert Forster (you younger ones here may only have heard of him from his performance in the brilliant Jackie Brown - IMO Tarantino's BEST film.)

Downfall

A good film, but with the subtitles, and the 2hrs 20 mark, it did seem to drag a bit in places. The two sides of Hitler being calm and creepily nice to people, then completely losing control in that well known clip that is used on YouTube for everything  My 2nd World Cinema title I've now watched, and I'd say Pans Labyrinth is slightly more for me.

The Lovely Bones

So intense it was incredible! Ahh, the list of my all time favourite films shall be altered!

Forces of Nature

I only bought it because Sandra Bullock is in it but i really enjoyed it

Not watched it yet as I've still to receive it! But ... I've only just found out that the absolutely fabulous DREAM ON with Brian Benben is available on Region 2 DVD so I've ordered it from Play.Com. Hoping the later episodes come out soon as I just have to have The One With The Rat.

This series from 1990 was just sheer brilliance. Conceived by the makers of Friends (and featuring some of the Friends cast in episodes) it was just way, way, way ahead of its time ... and Brian Benben deserved to be a star in his own right, instead of just being Mr Madeleine Stowe. Having John Landis on hand along the way didn't hurt much too.

Cry Wolf - surprisingly entertaining.

It really is, and also proves that gingers really don't have souls

The last DVD I brought was Kill Bill last week - so beautifully directed (apart from the final confrontation between The Bride and O-Ren, which was really uneven). I also don't care there is no original score, the blend of east and west in song and style was done masterfully, it's very much a grindhouse film mixed with the classic martial arts genre. I can really see why this became a cult hit (I haven't seen it before, but I regognised some scenes, lines, due to how big a part of pop culture it became). I think the film, surprisingly, peaked at the start with the battle with Vernita Green, it was perfection, and the direction and pace never slacked. After the introduction, the following, 'beginning scenes' didn't top it, although the hospital section with Elle came close. Then, the bloated chapters based around the sword and the O-Ren backstory, while I can understand the reasoning, still slowed the pace. I'm also officially obsessed with Gogo, in the few scenes she was in, she just demanded attention, I love her, I really didn't want her to die :(

Note: I'm also slightly bitter that Tarintino was forced to make the battle with the Crazy 88 black and white, due to the gore. Although Tarantino said he didn't mind, as it also pays as a homage, I still wish he was allowed to show people his original vision, without MPAA twisting his arm. Japan, I think, is the only territory where that scene was allowed to be shown in colour.

I watched Aeon Flux and The Box for the first time last night. I really enjoyed both films. The Box confused me a bit in parts but overall both films were really good

Fish Tank

Not a bad film at all!

Next up already sat waiting in my PS3, that old classic Mrs Doubtfire
