I'm sorry but I disagree totally with the other points especially the ones about the monarch, fair enough politics leaders as they have been elected but the monarch hasn't. If god forbid something terrible did happen it would be shocking and people would be entitled to be very sad but it wouldn't affect the security of the country.

Even I can see that yiu are letting your hatred for the monarchy cloud your judgment. It is right that the second in line for the throne got tested. You should be raging at Bojo for not allowing for more tests for the public. That's it. Relax.
I'm am concerned by that too and I disagree with monarchical government yes but I am annoyed that he gets tested while others don't. And yes NHS workers have ALOT more worth to the country than a member of the monarchy.
Right. The monarchy is a public institution. If Charles or any other member were to get seriously ill, that would spread panic across the globe, let alone in the UK. The monarchy get special protections. This is a fact. Any symptoms, no matter how small, would get responded to immediately, particularly considering the fact that Charles could come into close proximity with the actual sitting monarch and prince regent. Btw, they are all in the at risk category. Bojo's testing failures have nothing to do with the monarchy getting tested. Absolutely nothing. Yoi're being a bit of an idealogue here. Your view on this is irrational.

It's hardly irrational in comparison to your view that Prince Charles being ill would 'spread Panic around the globe' .

Anyway I've said my piece everyone is very aware of my views and that's that, I won't say another word about it.

It would. There is already mass panic. This would exacerbate the situation.

Good. You have every right to not be a monarchist, but you are letting it cloud your views on this. Your argument is illogical.

I wouldn't say it's illogical but it's definitely naïve to think everyone is supposed to be equal.

From The Sun.

BORIS Johnson's response to the coronavirus crisis has been backed by the majority of Brits, a new poll has revealed.

Pollsters from Number Cruncher Politics found 72 per cent of eligible voters are satisfied with the PM's performance.

The figure rises to 91 per cent of those currently supporting the Tories.

However, half of Labour voters, those voting for other parties and a large majority of undecided voters are also happy with Boris's leadership.

The government also gets similar approval ratings, both overall and on its handling of the Covid-19 outbreak.

According to Bloomberg, such positive numbers haven't been seen for a British Prime Minister since the early days of Tony Blair's premiership in 1997.

Il accept the naive arguement but not the others tbf!

It's all three: naive, illogical and irrational to blame the royal family for Bojo's mistakes and to expect them not to test the royal family.

It's not that he's not allowed them but there's a shortage of them in nearly every country. They can't magic them out of thin air.

Yet another incentive for all politicians to start telling big fat lies.

And again, these crisis approval numbers may be high now, but they are incredibly elastic, you know, due to the nature of there being an ongoing crisis. If it doesn't end, those will change pretty quickly.

Conte's had a completely unenviable job in Italy and though I wouldn't have said he's bungled it at least as far as I've been following, with the way things are going there, I reckon it's well within the realms of possibility that he resigns.

So many people in a thread on Mumsnet saying their neighbours have friends or family round tonight. Of course they will. Wanting to know if police can do anything if they ring. Don't think they can if it's inside a private home. Bet there's thousands up and down the country doing the same, drinks in and people round as pubs are shut. The lockdown just isn't workable unless you all have a pass and a copper on every street corner which is impossible. What's to stop someone taking their dog a walk and calling at their mates for a few cans?

Someone says the householder has done nothing wrong but it's those visiting that have left their homes for a non-essential reason. People saying not to bother police but mind their own business and police are over-stretched and too busy anyway.

The lockdown won't end anytime soon. With deaths increasing daily, it would be absolutely utter madness to lift restrictions. If anything, they will get tighter.

All they can do is advise and have more of a police presence along main roads and stop every other car like the Guards have been doing in Ireland. I can only speak for myself but I don't want to do anything to make myself or family sick so I'm not meeting friends or family this weekend or in the coming weeks but I know not all people are as rational thinking as others so it's hard to police.

Had a online quiz with friends tonight by video link and it was good craic like.

This is where the government’s message simply isn’t getting through. Our government isn’t alone in this but, as I’ve said before, it doesn’t help that Johnson is not taken seriously by so many - either because they think of him as a loveable buffoon or a serial liar.

Very interesting long Mumsnet thread running last night, couple in North Yorkshire with a daughter in London. Her place of work has closed so she wants to go home. She has a bedsit in a shared house. Her dad says he's driving down for her today but mum thinks he'll get stopped by police. He was wondering which is best, to drive all night or in the daytime. When is he least likely to be stopped. Most people said they'd go for her too but some were against it. What do you do if it's your child and you prefer them with you through this? I'd go for her too. Several posters said they've driven and brought their sons and daughters home.

Another mum wanting to get her daughter a train ticket to go home from London too but is worried about checks at stations. She was trying to think of a story she could make up if asked. There must be a lot of people with this dilemma.

She's apparently now flounced and left the site as she was angry at people telling her not to go. :o Wonder if he's gone.

I am hoping they relax a bit the restrictions to let some travel to visit family IF you then stay there in isolation for some time after (7 days or whatever), just as I haven't been able to see my family since xmas and its a bitch timing wise.

To be 100% safe you need at least a 14 day quarantine with them. According to Belgian researchers roughly 10% of the infected don't even know they are infected but are still contagious and their longs do get damaged. Would you really wanna risk that?

I went to my parents but I stayed in self isolation for a week more after I was cured again just to be sure and took a good shower before greeting them as I got there by train :')
