The top 2 (alphabetical order)

BUTTONS

vs

DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH

Which song will be crowned the winner!? I'll be announcing the winner at some point later tonight, probably about 9.15pm or something. :D

i don’t even care which wins because they are my top 2 pcd/nicole songs anyway

whew! come thru with taste buzzjack x

(I always think IHTP and DHYB are v similar and have very similar fanbases).

I mean. IHTP is my least favourite PCD song and DHYB is my fave Nicole song. I also don't think they sound anything alike. So a little confused at this statement. xx

Love that I Hate This Part came so high!

They're not world's apart in all honesty and I always lump them together for some reason. Xxxxxz

'I Hate This Part' has in recent times emerged as their very best moment for me. WHAT A SONG.

Fab top 2 though, I'd probably pick 'Don't Hold Your Breath' to win but don't necessarily mind either way.

Fabulous top 2, but Buttons to win please!!

React so high  I don't care how recent it is, it's SUCH a strong comeback and extremely worthy of sitting among their classics.

Reading through this has reminded me just how many of all of these I really liked/loved

"Don't Hold Your Breath" is my favourite of all of them, apart from possibly "Don't Cha", they'd be my top 2 anyway - and "Buttons" would certainly be up there too.

"Come To Me" with P Diddy SO LOW :o LOVED that!

THE PUSSYCAT DOLLS - BUTTONS (feat. SNOOP DOGG) [9.48]

Highest: ...ready for it, JosephInSpace, Jay ☆, HarryEzra, Juliano, (Zach) & troylovesmusic (11) + Liam, Prettylittlebry, Wall, NickF1, George.keh, Cameron, SamJudd, Jack, kye & Lukuzz (10)

Lowest: ElectroBoy (05) + gavindeejay (06)

At number 2 is the groups 4th single Buttons. It features WWE Queen SASHA BANKS' rap cousin Snoop Dogg and is a song that has a lot of middle eastern influences in it. I've really come to appreciate this song over time and I think the 7 I gave was perhaps a little low, it reminds me of something that'd sound in place and fit in on Britney Spears album 'In The Zone'. The song was another HUGE smash for the girls as it dominated the charts and became their 4th top 3 single in a row! It's quite addicting and a bit of a bop, but I really wasn't a fan at the time, but maybe I was annoyed it was a single over I Don't Need A Man at the time or something. A lot of 11's & 10's but not as much as our winner...

NICOLE SCHERZINGER - DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH [9.85]

Highest: Liam, Wall, George.keh, kye & WinterFreeze (11) + Cqmerqn, Prettylittlebry, NickF1, Jonjo, Cameron, SamJudd, Tawdry Hepburn, Jack, ...ready for it, JosephInSpace, Riser, FUTURE NOSTALGIA, JordanLee, ElectroBoy, Jay ☆, Juliano, (Zach) & troylovesmusic (10)

Lowest: Atonement (04.5)

Yep. Nicole's own single Don't Hold Your Breath manages to be victorious in our PCD & Solo singles rate, with a huge average of 9.85! It has everything a pop fan should love in a pop song. Great verses, catchy hooks, infectious chorus, a stunning middle 8, powerful vocals and just stunning production. It was a huge number 1 hit for Nicole and after so many years prior and so many times trying to break through as a soloist, it felt really rewarding that it was such a big hit for her. I think this would be one of those songs that a lot of people may have forgotten about, but the minute they hear it again they'd probably lose their shit to it and be reminded of what a song it is! A very deserving winner. Apart from the recorded score there were 3 more scores, which went no lower than an 8! (In fact 8, 9 & 9.5!)

Thank you to everyone for commenting and contributing to this. It's been a blast! I hope you've enjoyed the results and will take some time out to take part in some of the other 2020 singles rates happening around the forum! :D (Like the X Factor contestants rate - those that don't have enough material for their own rate)

yaaaasss! buttons in my fave pcd track, back then + still now. to me it epitomised what the group was about much more than don’t cha which was just a novelty in the end.

i remember when don’t hold your breath got revealed to be nicole’s, i was ecstatic. at the time, we’d heard about 4 different versions of it with different vocalists, different production.. so when this track was released it was so refreshing to hear nicole’s take on it + how they’d amped up the production - though carl falk + rami never disappoint. it was a good time to be a nicole fan because she’d got so much good faith from the uk scene + when she began promoting this, it was so well received that #1 didn’t seem out of the realms of possibility (it was in the days where songs were #1 for a week + there was an actual race each week) - very exciting + a deserved winner IMO.

i don’t know how people can argue with the results when we’re the ones that did the voting x

By the looks of it... the people who didn't vote :D

Agreed about Nicole's position in the UK Public's eye when DHYB was fighting for number 1. It was a real sense of joy seeing it become such a smash for her. I'd followed her music career since I first heard 'Don't Cha', so knowing how tough she'd had it and how many times she tried to make going solo a success was very rewarding

Sorry if that came harsh lol.

even though I didn't vote I enjoyed following results so thanks Jonjo for putting this together.

Next rate if even happens I am definitely voting.

I guess that explains why solo Nicole tracks are so high and praised in this forum because literally here in US they didn't give her that much attention besides when she was with PCD!!!
