I don't believe she's ever performed on the Royal Variety as a solo artist, only with the girls back in 1997 and 1998.

To be fair, a lot of these shows decide what songs the artists are going to perform. Mel isn't at the point where she can play stroppy and insist on being about what she's going to perform as a solo artist.

A medley like what she did on the take that thing would be great !!!

I hope it’s Too Much. That song she made it hers. I mean, that ‘I want a man / Not a boy who thinks he can’ is what makes the song and I love the energy she puts.

I used to hate it and now I listen to it more than Viva Forever.

It will air in December which is later than normal so it might be a Christmas song or one of the Spice Girls xmas number 1s.

... or it could be a Melanie C song. :)

If it is anything off the new album she needs to go all out, price reduction on itunes, Amazon and her webstore. Really push for those sales, she won't get better promo to shift albums.

She's already looking towards new music, specially since she wont be able to tour much or do much else this winter. Apparently she was already taking with Biff about it.

 

A few other tidbits:

 

- She doesnt feel very confident that the tour in April/May will go ahead and they will have to make a decision to postpone soon as she doesnt want to mess people around.

 

- There was no planned tour with the Spice Girls beforehand. They hadnt actually agreed to anything by the time the pandemic hit, but they were talking about it, making plans, but nothing had been agreed to (so those rumours of tours being planned and announcements being scheduled, etc was not true).

 

- Northern Star vinyl: she doenst have the power to do it, but she hopes it will happen one day (I wish she would just buy the rights back to be honest, it's her most successful album and she could do more with it!).

 

- WOMAN: She thinks the standard is at their level.

 

- She might do another video for her current album

 

- She wants to put out some new music next year

Completely agree. Or try a joint release with virgin it can happen if negotiated right.

Not sure if it is as simple as her re-recording everything again. She need permission still, doesnt she? if she wants to publish them. Also, it is probably more expensive than buying the album outright from Virgin.

 

She should just buy it off Virgin/EMI and be off with it, re-master it and put it out again on her own. She would sell more than what is selling now, thats for sure!
