i can't wait to hear the new album. i'm so bored confined at home... I need something new to cheer me up !!

I have a feeling Melanie's album won't chart as high as Emma's so swings and roundabouts and all that...

I really hope Melanie is able to push the boat out with her album physical formats. Just releasing 1 CD (and some signed copies) really isn't enough anymore, not when other artists are releasing vinyl records and cassettes too!

Emma's team did a great job. The different formats really helped. If Melanie's album is at least as good as WIA, I can see it charting higher than Version of Me. A Top20 would be nice.

I don't know why she doesn't get some sort of distribution deal with a major record company similar to what she had in Germany? Red Girl Records can provide financing for making the record and they can finance the copies that can be produced and some promotion and then profits split... Surely she would do just as well as Emma with that type of deal?

 

I'm hoping for a top 20 album anyway would be wonderful if she could do it :wub:

Melanie's live chat on Instagram lasted about 40 minutes. In regards to the album she said she began working on it in early 2019, because she wanted to get some of it done before the Spice Girls tour. She also said that she's still working on it now, including having recorded some vocals today. She mentioned some of her songwriting collaborators, such as Little Boots and Shura. As well as this, she teased that she has an exciting collaboration upcoming that she won't reveal yet.

I assumed it would be called Who I Am tbh :lol:

She said the album is full of dance tracks and also some ballads but I think it's going to be her most commercial dance album ever :cheer:

With "ballads" I hope she means Robyn-esque electro pop type of ballads.

Mel C did great with ballads on her first couple of albums, such as Northern Star, Feel The Sun, Home, Reason, etc. But since then it has all been a snoozefest, so I am HERE for eletronic ballads as well because at least it would spice things up a little (although judging from Version of Me album, im not keeping my hopes up lol)

forgot about You'll Get Yours!! It's a cute bop. Weak and The Moment You Believe are so mediocre.... I cant remember Fragile.
