9. Wham! - Last Christmas/Everything She Wants

Average score - 7.571

Low score : 3 - dandy*

'Last Christmas' narrowly finishes ahead of 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' to take the title of favourite Christmas no.2 single. It was a solo effort with George Michael writing, singing, producing and playing all the instruments and is the biggest selling single not to reach number 1. It returned to the no.2 position in 2017. George Michael has said that the other A side,'Everything She Wants',is his favourite Wham! song.

Two classic Christmas tracks kicking off the top ten then!
Not the top 3 Christmas classics being in the exact reverse order of how they should be xx

YESSSS love to see 'Confide In Me' so high, easily one of Kylie's best for me

Last Christmas and AIWFC are too annually over-played for me to properly appreciate them.

Loving the festive start to the top 10. Glad Wham beat Mariah even though I love them both.

I didn't give it 10 points but Wonderwall is a good classic. Glad it's top 10. :P

7. Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder On The Dancefloor

Average score - 7.653

Stopped by : Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Thru This

Top scores : 10 - marcinjaro,SamJudd,Jester,M4NGO,Addy,girlsaloudjunkie,West,Jade

Low score : 3 - garyfeld

Released in December 2001,'Murder On The Dancefloor' was a new entry at no.2. It then slipped down the chart for three weeks before returning to no.2. Daniel Bedingfield had lost the battle for the Christmas no.1 to Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman but he returned to the top of the chart to once again deny Sophie Ellis-Bextor her number 1. 'Murder On The Dancefloor' was the most played song in Europe in 2002.

I like Murder On The Dancefloor but I'm really surprised this is top 10. :o

Part of it may be due to the lack of haters, its lowest score is 3.

6. Robert Miles - Children

Average score - 7.704

Stopped by : Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger, Take That - How Deep Is Your Love

Top scores : 11 - dutch22,jszmiles, 10 - Bjork,Mark223,jimwatts,Addy,Chez Wombat,Dobbo,danG,Bre,Rush,Jade

Low scores : 2 - Spiceboy,garyfeld

Last year 'Children' was voted as Buzzjack's ultimate dance track so it's maybe not a surprise to see it do well here. The single had been released in Italy a year earlier and took off in the UK after Pete Tong made it the Tune Of The Week on his Radio 1 show for three weeks in a row. It spent the first seven weeks of its chart run at either number 2 or number 3.

'Sweet Dreams' was the Eurythmics' sixth single and the first to reach the top 40. Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart had previously had chart success as part of The Tourists. The song was also an American number 1.

Great looking top 10 beyond the Christmas songs so far - especially pleased to see 'Children' up this high  and 'Wonderwall' managing to be top 10 despite one of their other songs finishing dead last and the other also being pretty low down, not bad!

I didn't think Wonderwall would be that high actually! I guess it is a real classic even if it isn't a big favourite from them for me.

Great looking top 10 so far, Children this high up is wonderful  Wish Stardust had made it though!

Wonderwall, Murder On The Dancefloor and Children are all classics and deserve their places in the Top 10. Eurythmics not so much.

Sweet Dreams is an absolute classic! Delighted it's finished top 5, should definitely have made #1.

Stardust just missing the top 10 though :(
