September 17, 20204 yr The cover is a bit too similar to his EP cover last year. They could've tried something else. And... I kinda don't like that the titles are all (changed to) small letters for some reason. But I didn't mind it on his EP last year or... MGK's Tickets To My Downfall album. But whatever, YUNGBLUD being YUNGBLUD. I just want some cool tracks from him (which some are ('strawberry lipstick' is a choon), some aren't).

December 1, 20204 yr How much are we expecting Yungblud to sell? He seems to be a fan base centred artist! The record company are confident it will be challenging for a #1 place! From Music Week - Yungblud is set to be one of the biggest UK acts in the world, manager Tommas Arnby has told Music Week. Doncaster-born Yungblud (real name Dominic Harrison) drops his sophomore album Weird! on Friday (December 4). Licensed to Interscope in the US and Polydor in the UK, the LP is set to build on the rising rock star’s global streaming success. “Having an album out this year was incredibly important,” said Arnby, CEO of Locomotion Entertainment. “It means that we can double the fanbase and then he’ll be one of the top five British artists [globally], which is pretty good in three years. “We see it as a global project and Interscope allowed me to take that view with their investment from the outset. So the UK is as much our home market as the US.” Although the LP will be competing with new releases from Shawn Mendes and Kelly Jones, Arnby is hopeful of a UK No.1. “I think we have a shot,” he said. “But we’re also very excited about the album beyond the first week. “We’ve always been the underdog. We just focus on the things that we have control over, and what we do have is an amazingly engaged fanbase.” Last year’s The Underrated Youth EP peaked at No.6 and has sales to date of 30,377 (Official Charts Company). Yungblud now has 8,474,844 monthly listeners on Spotify and Arnby expects that to go past 10 million in the coming weeks. The singer has described Weird! as a record about self-acceptance and liberation. Arnby suggested it’s a concept album that will continue to evolve. “We want to look at the album more like a project, it’s not a closed body of work,” he said. “We want to add music to it for some time, into Q1 and possibly beyond. We’ve got a lot of music in the bank.” Yungblud is one of the few rock acts who breaches the singles chart. Cotton Candy is currently on the Radio 1 A list and grazed the Top 100 (21,942 sales). His recent collaboration with Bring Me The Horizon on Obey resulted in his first Top 40 hit (No.37, 50,502 sales). It follows 2019’s I Think I’m Okay with Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker, which peaked at No.90 (249,076 sales) and has more than 210m Spotify streams. Further surprise collaborations are set to drop following the album release this week. “It would be great to have a bonafide hit record internationally, which I’m sure we will be able to achieve,” said Arnby. In the past 12 months, Yungblud has grown his Instagram followers from 1.7m to 2.7m. He has 1.8m TikTok followers. “Instagram and TikTok have been very important platforms for him to scale with authenticity,” said Arnby. “He’s smashing it on TikTok.” Yungblud recently performed at the MTV EMAs, where he was voted winner of the Best Push award. “It’s still the fans who are the best sales force out there,” said Arnby.
