Give us the UK tea and release date already Dannii <_<

Girl is coming out on Cherry Red as a box set. They're having a nightmare getting pictures, the initial designer quit already. They'll probably just scan and rip off the excellent reissues which came out in 2010. Obviously they'll be a vinyl and a DVD with the videos and probably Dannii At The BBC stuff. Plus a booklet, again if they can find any images. I just don't get what unreleased stuff they can find because everything put out between 2007-2010 was rammed full of everything in the vaults. Good luck to them because it's going to be a a tough job!

Love that Cherry Red are handling this - I was worried it would be thrown out by an uninterested indie, at least we know from the Kylie boxsets they put effort into their reissues and are well known for creating amazing album updates.

 

Even though Eternal folded they were owned by WEA so hopefully there will be something in the vaults to release - even n unheard remix or two.

It’s Tom Parker again on this project. Others were offered but for the work involved and no payment offered, it really isn’t possible anymore. Those guys have handled pretty much every part of her catalogue in the past and it’s time to let someone else have a go now. Life has got very busy for everyone since 2010!

 

Kylie’s Impossible Princess is my favourite album and important to me for many reasons, including getting to kinda work with her which was crazy, and Dannii’s Girl coming out at the same time was exciting. It’s the time I also first got to know Dannii too, before working with her for a long time. There’s actually a lot to be said about that record which I hope they cover in the liner notes, including how the direction of the album changed near the end of recording, hence you have Everybody Changes, on the same album as Moving Up. They didn’t have time to record further and make it entirely full of songs like that and Am I Dreaming, so it is a rather odd mix of very cool dance tracks and super pop. Somehow it works very well though!

 

Wishing them all the best and I hope the final product is fantastic because it’s a special album and important to many. I can’t wait to see what they do. I’ll be grabbing a copy for sure.

I'm not surprised to hear that - supposedly Someone New was pitched as the first single (I remember her webmaster claiming there had been a cheap video filmed for it as a part of the pitch to sign her to Warner/Eternal; I suppose that's possible considering she was dating that photographer guy who did Everything I Wanted later on). I'm glad it's more eclectic though and not just filled with Am I Dreaming's, Everybody Changes and Movin' Up's.

Bit of a mess especially since it’s coming via Warners in Australia so would have through that there would be more information regarding it.

I’m over the moon we have it and I think with the amount of interaction Danni’s had with fans when they said they wanted it she made it happen but it’s a shame that it’s a bit of a mess release.

While it's good to get, I hate when releases like this are messed up as when they are done right they do well. It's a bit like the recent spiceworld release by the spice girls which has bern a complete mess.

Unlike spice tho this is a nice package.

She’s promoting the qvc stuff !!!

The Girl vinyl looks like a nice release to me! The label went with the first 16 tracks that are included on the CD re-issue (so the vinyl has the Alternative Extended Mix of Movin' Up instead of the shorter 1997 original).

 

The Australian vinyl comes 2 months after the album's actual 25th anniversary, so I don't suppose it matters a great deal if the UK version takes a while longer (if it's still only in the design stage, its release probably won't be for quite a few more months). I'd rather the timing of the release be late, than the actual product itself being sub-par.

Unlike spice tho this is a nice package.

Yes, I’m just pleased to have it - I would have liked the release to be a bit more synced but that’s because it’s such a great album I want them to go all out

I’m looking forward to seeing what Cherry Red come up with - even if there isn’t any new content to add I’d love the same as they done with the Kylie PWL albums as the artwork would look great on a Boxset and as a picture disc :wub:
