At least IP went Top 10 and was certified silver, Girl missed the Top 50 and has sold 18,000 :drama:

It's all relative when you compare sales of other albums by each sister.

Both albums getting extra sales would be good. We need to get girl to silver and IP to gold.

It was sort of pre-Xenomania as the production group hadn't been founded yet but the song was still created by people who made the team. It was through working with Dannii that founder Brian Higgins was able to work with Cher and create the basis of 'Believe'!

That was a huge coup for Brian, never knew that before. Believe was such a massive hit so it would have really got his name out there and also made him alot of money. Back then a big number 1 like believe would have made alot of money where as now there is far less money earned through a big number 1 due to streaming paying very little.

I believe Dannii heard an early version of Believe, but rejected it - it was pre-the vocoder though and I doubt it would've worked as well with Dannii though as the lyrics seemed poignant with Sonny's death plus it was time for Cher to have another re-invention is what really drove it to the top.

Never heard that but wasn’t there a rumour she turned down Lola’s theme or was it put em high ?

Turning down 2 such huge songs was a big error.

Dannii may not have met with the same success but would have had 2 moderate hits with Believe and Lola's Theme and potentially 2 of her biggest hits.

I couldnt really see believe been sung by anyone else but Cher and she done a great job on it, not sure how it would have worked for Dannii but lolas theme could have worked brill for Dannii.

This really needs to be on our next listening party playlist I think - I still listen to it all the time and would love to know what everyone thinks of the songs all these years later :cheer:
