Posted May 2, 20205 yr ROUND 1: "Promises" ROUND 2: "Under Control" ROUND 3: "Slide" ROUND 4: "One Kiss" --- Hi y'all! As you may know, the second edition of AF Idol has begun. Dan, Lewis and I are in charge to pick the songs from Calvin Harris for each round, but we need your help. Although we already have some possible choices, we would like to hear what you think. The theme of round 1 is free choice, so any song from Calvin could be sent. However, as a tip, it's better to save the biggest hits until later rounds, so which song do you think it could be a safe and good pick for this round? Please, also consider that there's a triple elimination in this round, so we would like to avoid that too.
May 3, 20205 yr Something popular with Buzzjack but not a massive hit? Giant, Let’s Go, Pray To God? I know PTG does have a lot of fans on Buzzjack BUT compared to the likes of We Found Love, One Kiss, or Bounce for example it doesn’t hold up as well imo and would struggle to take votes away from other AF entries. Whereas his more wider hits could put up a fight against the best Britney etc can offer

May 7, 20205 yr Author The theme of round 2 is a song that started an era, so the choices are "Acceptable In The 80s", "I'm Not Alone", "Bounce", "Under Control" and "Slide". Which one do you think we should submit in this round?
May 8, 20205 yr "Under Control" is my favourite of those and probably the only one that I'd vote for given the strength of the competing artists, but I'm aware that I'm likely in the minority with that being one of my Calvin faves :lol:
May 8, 20205 yr I think it has to be either 'Bounce' or 'I'm Not Alone'; the others would probably easily lose. I think even 'Dance Wiv Me' would be very shaky if it's eligible. I'm torn because I feel like 'I'm Not Alone' is one of his most popular songs on this site so it should be saved for later, but 'Bounce' only barely survived in round 2 of the previous game. On top of that, 'I'm Not Alone' also only barely survived round 5 which I think surprised me at the time, but I guess it's better suited to games in the chart forum, whereas his songs with big pop features might get more votes here. So I'd pick 'I'm Not Alone' as the safer choice.

I think I'm Not Alone should definitely be saved for later as it seems really popular with this site (though as Rush pointed out earlier, it could just be limited to the chart forum!) and this round is just a single elimination, but at the same time Bounce might be seen as risky. It's a tough choice.
May 8, 20205 yr I think all of them are risky lmao. Maybe Bounce is the more BJ friendly option..? My favourites of the songs eligible are Slide and Acceptable though. :P

I wouldn't expect much for 'Slide' (and there's not much chance I'd vote it), but I was narrowly wrong about 'Under Control' losing even outside of the randomised Robbie choice, so who knows?
